“We booked Mappowder cottage, as we were waiting to move into our new house which was taking longer than expected to complete.”
The cottage was very comfy, cosy and warm during a very cold spell in late November early December. We had everything we needed to make our stay a very pleasant one. The bedrooms were particularly splendid with beautiful crisp white cotton linen and huge cushions which gave a touch of understated decadence. The bathroom again was beautifully clean and bright with a rather magnificent roll top bath.
We found Elizabeth and her husband to be very kind and considerate hosts. As we were staying in the cottage for a month, it was like a home from home, with added the extra of beautiful country views and lovely walks for our dog along the safe and long private driveway to the property. Elizabeth has her own horses stabled a short distance away and has great facilities for horse lovers who want to bring their horse or horses with them on holiday. Even if you are not into horses, it is lovely introduction to meet the two very good-natured horses who make wonderful neighbours. It is a great place for a short on long break, as there is lots to see and do for all ages. It is also a delightful quiet place to spend some time just chilling. We would certainly recommend Mappowder cottage, we would have happily stayed there longer, if we had needed to,
