    “Our second stay here.”

    Still quiet, safe, warm and spacious. Great location, walking distance to Wells and with parking. Maintenance is required in places especially to the shower room and there needs to be deep cleaning to less used kitchen items, place mats etc. Bedding and towels show signs of wear/ marks. We needed to supply our own soap for one of the bathrooms and also washing up liquid, but no biggie. The new washing machine is great but unless the rubber seal is dried out thoroughly and cleaned between ...

We needed to supply our own soap for one of the bathrooms and also washing up liquid, but no biggie. The new washing machine is great but unless the rubber seal is dried out thoroughly and cleaned between stays, it’s likely to be quickly mildewed as it was already a little smelly of damp and stained, it’s only a few months old. We addressed this during our stay but needs to be kept on top of. None of this detracted from our stay at all, all minor, and we would stay again.

Offering views across the city towards the cathedral and the Mendip Hills, this contemporary apartment boasts spacious accommodation, along with tasteful furnishings, making this holiday home an ideal base for a get-together with family or friends.

The historic centre of Wells has many places to sit and relax, and also many independent shops, pubs and restaurants and a lovely market square.

The beautiful cathedral and Bishop’s Palace are just five minutes away, and also within walking distance is Vicars’ Close, the oldest residential street in Europe.

Further afield you will find Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole, beaches at Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare, and the Somerset Levels, famous for bird watching.

The vibrant cities of Bath and Bristol are also an easy drive away for some excellent shopping and sightseeing.

This delightful Wells apartment is an ideal retreat for discovering all that the city and surrounding area has to offer at any time of the year.

Wells, England’s smallest city, is named after the springs which still bubble up today in the grounds of its splendid Bishop's Palace with its famous moat. Adjacent is the beautiful 12th century cathedral situated within a most attractive cathedral close and green. Nearby, Vicars Close is home to the oldest complete medieval street in Europe, and the quaint market square offers an array of interesting shops, boutiques and restaurants, and a colourful twice-weekly market. The surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty provides a wealth of scenic footpaths and rugged landscapes, and is a superb base for caving and rock climbing, and for road, biking and mountain biking. Nearby are the attractions of Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole Caves, both offering great days out. The picturesque Somerset Levels, as well as mystical Glastonbury are also situated an easy drive away.
