The cottage was clean on arrival and well equipped. The kitchen had a washing machine and dishwasher, with tablets/powder supplied, which was a nice touch. Eco liquid soap was also provided in each bathroom, which we appreciated.
There was plenty of space, particularly as the cottage has two lounges, which worked really well. The water pressure was good in both bathrooms. There were plenty of pillows and bedding, and having clean towels laid out on the beds when we arrived was another nice touch. The Wi-Fi was also good.
The play area next door wasn't noisy or busy at all during our stay, although we were there in September after the schools had gone back, so this may be different during the school holidays.
There was good parking for two cars, with plenty of parking available on the nearby road if additional cars were visiting.
The rear garden was a good size, with great views across the fields towards West Bay. There was also a washing line, which was useful.
There are a few areas where I think the cottage could benefit from some attention to general maintenance, particularly in the main bathroom. For example, some of the silicone around the floor could do with replacing. Also it was nice to have a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs but one is also needed at the top in my view.
I used the double bed and felt that the mattress could do with being replaced, as it wasn't particularly comfortable.
The kitchen was well appointed but is quite narrow, although this is clear from the photographs so it wasn't a surprise. The dining area was also a little narrow.
Some of the other guests mentioned that they would have preferred the en-suite to have a door for additional privacy.
Apart from these few points, we enjoyed our stay and I would happily stay here again. Overall, I would give the cottage 4 out of 5.
