    • “Property can be difficult to find in the dark down muddy lanes. Well worth the effort though, but try to arrive in daylight. The house was formerly owned by Admiral Sir Alexander Hood and monument to Admiral Samuel Hood, his cousin, can be walked from the house. When you enter the Property you travel back in time by 200 years, which I found very appealing.”

    Mr Jones, PORTSMOUTH, December 2018

    • “We had a fantastic stay - many thanks. The house was perfect for us - spacious and incredibly well-equipped but also suitable for a large group with small kids. The toy stash was incredible! We would love to come back and stay again.”

    Mrs Gillott, Wantage, November 2018

    • “Wootton House is really special. It’s much bigger than most weekend rentals, with two sitting rooms, a long dining room, large kitchen and an entrance hall big enough for a party. It is a little tatty in places, but it makes up for it with its unique charm. The housekeeper is welcoming and efficient.”

    Deedman, November 2018

    • “Non slip mats should be supplied for baths with shower attachments especially the roll top bath. Keys for the window locks should be checked as some did not fit the locks in the bedroom they were located in and some rooms had no keys. The house is a bit tired but the owners indicated they are striving to rectify this. This is not a criticism as we new it needed some TLC. The house was perfect for our reunion and the gardens were splendid. We enjoyed our stay very much.”

    Mr Ecuyer, BUNTINGFORD, September 2018

    • “We had an excellent holiday. We would definitely recommend Wootton House for large families. The children's climbing frames and swings need urgent attention. More fridge space in the kitchen and pantry would be useful for large families self catering. Cleaning the windows and fixing the wallpaper would make the house seem more cared for.”

    Mr Linehan, Lewes, July 2018

    • “We loved our time at wooton and can not wait to return. I did have to do some cleaning before my guests arrived but with the beauty of the house I was not to bothered, The gardens are amazing and I am going to book again next year. All the staff were helpful and amazing Thank you so much”

Mrs Te Wano, 6230, June 2018

    • “Comfortable, elegant house with beautiful garden. Plenty to do on site for all ages - we learnt to play croquet - and walks from the house. A lovely cosy kitchen with Aga. Really needs more fridge and freezer space. Caretaker very helpful.”

Mr Day, STOKE GIFFORD, May 2018

    • “Very spacious house with fantastic gardens a real character home. Just a shame the Wifi was unusable most of the time!”

    Mr Searle, Winscombe, April 2018

    • “It would be good to have clearer instructions on the recycling particularly compostable items. We assumed that these are not collected so put it in with normal rubbish. A couple of the rooms are cooler than the others so is it worth having some free-standing heaters available to use. We always have two or three people who feel the cold more than others, but we also realise it's an old house and heating is notoriously difficult to get right for everyone.”

    Miss Leedham, BAMPTON, April 2018

    • “Ideal location for our requirements.”

    Mrs Booker, BRISTOL, April 2018

    • “A lovely warm, cosy, house enjoyed by our large family group. Will definitely try and visit again .”

    Mrs Fellowes, Worcester, March 2018
