This house needs a huge steam-clean everywhere, especially in the corners, behind the beds (dead flies), and some of the window frames are appalling. This is not shabby-chic, it is just plain shabby. Beds comfy, and the grandparents enjoyed the tall fireside chairs, and the sun room is lovely. Fresh paint and a new stair-carpet would make all the difference. The house is in a great situation, and the garden (if it were tidy) is very nice, and the garage snooker was a huge success.

Firstly thank you for taking the time to feedback. I am disappointed to read about the concerns given we were in contact with you throughout your stay and everything was fine, and I don’t think it’s a fair reflection to give 2* rating given the feedback given we have had from numerous guest loving their stay and giving 4* & 5* reviews and a few minor issues over the years. The house is an 18th Century cottage, holiday let and does have wear and tear and aspects in keeping with age, the whole exterior woodwork and windows were painted in April as we do maintain as we go. The carpets are not a good colour light grey in the hall but these are deep cleaned and not thread bear so will be replaced in due course, to note we are aware of marks but these won’t come out even when professionally cleaned. This property is also deep cleaned by a team after each stay I will follow up and do an inspection to check behind beds to see if there are issues. I assuming kitchen bathrooms, towel and bedding was all to a good standard and floor were are hovered and cleaned work tops, tables chairs etc.
Facilities are also as stated an issue but I’m unclear what the issue was there you actually have more facilities in the kitchens than advertised and the upstairs bath has been replaced and retiled so completely in April the property has a new down stairs shower and new boiler, what was the issue you have just stated positives about the conservatory, beds, chairs and pool table ?
If it’s the garden to note is a battle due to climate and the are area being very fertile, but is cut back regularly and the grass was cut, and paths are clear weeded jet washed all in good order to use.
As I said I don’t think your review is a fair reflection and this is frustrating when there is not consistent measure on feedback I just wish all the guest who stayed and had good visits all write reviews as we have had over 80 guest stay since we started and a number have been repeat guests.
