Description

Martock 1.5 miles.

Bower Coach House is a beautiful cottage set on two floors.

It is attached to the owner’s house and formerly the building was a coaching inn called the Red Lion, dating back to the 1600s and it retains some original features.

There is one bedroom with a king-size sleigh bed and an en-suite shower room.

Downstairs is an open plan kitchen, lounge, dining space with a woodburner and access to an enclosed shared garden.

Bower Coach House is accessed via the original coach house arched entrance, through wooden doors into a secure garage area, large enough for one car.

At the rear of the garage are steps that take you into the downstairs of the property.

There is no wheelchair access to the cottage.

There is also a narrow, steep staircase from the ground floor to the first floor.

Whether you’re driving, cycling or walking, Bower Hinton provides an ideal base for a holiday, with a variety of interesting and fun days out: Forde Abbey Gardens, Barrington Court, Montacute House, Tintinhull Gardens, Lytes Cary and East Lambrook should provide ample opportunity for gardeners and those who enjoy National Trust properties.

The Haynes Motor Museum and the fleet air Arm Museum are in easy distance.

Take a look at Somerset Cider making at Perry’s Cider Barn in Dowlish Wake, or visit Somerset Cider Brandy.

Muchelney Pottery is close by as well as the Willows and Wetlands.

A lovely historical cottage with 21st century facilities, in an ideal location to explore some of the best of the West Country.

We love this place.

We have been before and will definitely be back. It has everything you need and is clean and comfortable. The hosts are friendly and are never to busy to be on hand if needed. I would say the one thing about this place I will miss is that bed. Omd I have never slept so well not even in my own bed. So cosy x

It was a perfect place for me to stay (female-alone) and very cosy.

The bed was lovely and the facilities were almost perfect. It’s connected to the owners property by a locked door. It’s probably crazy but I don’t like not having a bolt on my side. I felt anxious. The heating is controlled by the owners and wasn’t great for me as I got up early and went out before 8 and the heating wasn’t on. In the evening it was lovely and warm. The wood burner looked great but needs re- sealing as it leaked smoke round the door when I lit it. Strangely there were logs provided but no kindling and matches. There are no sharp knives so I bought one. In keeping with other Sykes properties only 1 dishwasher tablet was provided and no washing up liquid. This always feed a bit mean to be honest! I wouldn’t stay again due to the lack of a bolt on my side of the owners access door. Otherwise it’s a nice place to be.

I was unable to lock the back door.

Owners were well aware of the problem but seemed unconcerned. It left me feeling uneasy. Lots of DVDs, no DVD player and the television didn't work anyway. I realise I could have notified owners and had these resolved, but felt their poor attention to detail demanded a bad review.
