Langport 2.4 miles. The End, a detached cottage nestled within Old Manor Farm, enjoys a peaceful countryside setting near the owner’s residence. Surrounded by the lush landscapes of Somerset, this charming retreat offers a luxurious and pet-friendly escape for couples seeking tranquillity and a touch of indulgence.
On arrival, you’ll find ample off-road parking and a delightful front garden — an ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee while planning the day’s adventures. Step inside to discover a stylish open-plan living space, where you can prepare delicious meals in the bright, white-washed kitchen, complete with a dishwasher and washer/dryer. Meals can be savoured at the dining table, perhaps with a celebratory glass of fizz.
When the weather’s fine, take advantage of the enclosed rear garden for a spot of alfresco dining. After supper, unwind on the plush sofa and enjoy a favourite film on the wall-mounted TV as the evening draws in.
Upstairs, the well-appointed king-size bedroom features an exposed stone wall and generous storage. The en-suite bathroom offers both a bath and an overhead shower — perfect for a relaxing soak or a brisk refresh before heading out.
Whether you're drawn to wildlife watching at RSPB Greylake or Swell Wood, hiking through the Quantock Hills, or exploring the historic Lytes Cary Manor, there’s plenty to discover nearby.
Old Manor Farm is also home to Ivy & Bud, a nationwide floral gift service that sends seasonal posies with charming bud vases. The flowers are lovingly grown and arranged on-site, with workshops potentially available in future. A nice cottage, in a lovely setting.
The kitchen equipment could have been better - only two knives, a small saucepan would have been useful, no tea towels provided (I know there is a dishwasher but it's easier just to wash the dishes when there's only two of you)
The End was in a lovely peaceful farm location, with a very comfortable large bed and modern kitchen and bathroom appliances.
Becky, who looks after the property, was amazing and could not have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming. She even went the extra mile to ‘dress’ the front garden beautifully when we had grandchildren over one day, and our Cavapoo loved her, her little Jack Russels and the freedom to play in the garden.
We enjoyed our stay at The End.
The accommodation is well equipped (could add a cork screw/bottle opener) and comfortable. This is the first Sykes vacation we have been on where there has been no local produce welcome pack (although one is shown in the listing). The garden is not as private as appears in the listing which was not ideal for our dog. Overall a nice stay in a great location for exploring the sights.
