Good well equipped house , very clean and tidy , Andy the owner really has thought of everything guests of all ages could want , with a lot of attention to detail , my wife and I always book with Sykes cottage’s and once again have given us a superb property to enjoy , thanks Dave G

It is situated in the prefect location for walking and exploring the beautiful surrounding area.

Excellent and well presented house, clean and plenty for kids to do.

Bonus of a great garden and swing and slide set. The addition of baby gates was great for us with a 1 and 3 year old kids. All accessories and utensils were brilliant with plenty of choice and no need for bringing extras. This cottage is a great base to visit parts of Somerset and North Devon. All in all a great holiday and would highly recommend staying here.

Lovely house, exceptionally clean and everything you may need is supplied. Was reluctant to give too good a review in case we cannot get booked again in the future!!

Lovely cottage, with everything you could possibly need and well appointed for Minehead.

The only downside is the rubbish disposal, but of course that is down the local council and not down to the owner. We recycle at home and our regime is far easier, landfill or recycling items-2 bins only. We don’ t have to sift through every item we throw away. Rather tiresome on a holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay at TUS NUA Cottage.

The cleanliness was exceptional and everything was provided to ensure our comfort. The cottage was notable for not being overly cluttered and it featured some very nice artwork in the decor. The only thing we lacked was a shelf in the bathroom to put our toiletries on. The position of the cottage was excellent for us as we take our grandchildren for a proper old-fashioned beach holiday. Situated on a small modern development with multiple beaches and Minehead close at hand, our grandchildren favoured Dunster beach. Thank you to Andy for providing this lovely place, thank you for your excellent communication and thank you for the welcome gifts. We intend to return.

We had a lovely short break at Tus Nua.

The house was well presented, clean and ready for our arrival.

The house was equipped with lots of amenities that we were not expecting and made it easier to settle into. A lovely house in a really nice area and great communication from the owner. Would highly recommend.

The property is in a nice quiet location with many attractions very close by.

The house was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Lots of instructions to carry out when vacating the property! Unfortunately both the local shop and pub in the village are closed down.

This is a beautiful well equipped cottage and is a real credit to the owner.

We would highly recommend Tŭs Nua to anyone wanting to stay in the Carhampton and Minehead area and I'm sure we shall return in the near future. Our grandchildren loved the swings and slide in the garden along with all the toys in the house and shed. They couldn't wait to get out into the garden as soon as we returned to the cottage. Thank you for making our holiday an absolute pleasure.

An excellent place to stay.

The owner is very helpful and has put a lot of effort into making sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. It is easy to find and in a peaceful, quiet setting. We found it just a little too warm at night but didn't contact the owner who would have been only too happy to turn the heating down for us. There is plenty of cupboard and storage space and the beds are comfortable.

Very well appointed but a handrail over the bath would help old visitors

Lovely cottage with everything we needed. 2 older people in our party struggled getting up from very soft sofa but not a problem to younger members. Very warm at night even though we turned the heating down. Fantastic play equipment in garden for our 5 year old. In nice area central to places of interest

We had a lovely stay at this cottage.

It was quiet, comfortable and very clean. The location was really good, it was within an hours drive from lots of attractions and the exmoor national park was outstanding for beautiful views and unspoilt coastlines, great for exploring. The one drawback for us personally is the property felt very regimentaly managed so once we read the very long list of instructions it lost some of its relaxing holiday feel. All this said we had a wonderful time and was great value for money.

I booked this cottage as a break for myself and my Dad after he had a heart attack 6 weeks ago.

We had the most relaxing stay at Tus Nua. Andy has thought of everything, it really is a home from home. Communication between Andy and myself was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The dishwasher wasn't working for our stay but Andy contacted me before the stay to apologise (which definitely wasn't needed but very much appreciated.) If you are looking for a home from home in a quiet location close to Minehead, Dunster, Watchet etc then it is definitely worth staying! Thank you again Andy!

We had a brilliant stay at Tus Nua Cottage.

Andy has really thought of everything and there are so many nice touches and things in the cottage that make life so much easier to be on holiday with little ones. The house was clean and comfortable, and just so well equipped. The location of the cottage is brilliant for exploring the local area. We would definitely return.

Excellent property.

Lovely cottage in quiet village.

The cottage is geared for kids with a great garden as well as indoor games, cots, stair gates etc. Beautiful, quiet location in Somerset within a short drive to beautiful Exmoor countryside, quaint villages and shingle beaches. Longer drive of 30-75 minutes will take you to Taunton, Weston S-M, Ilfracombe and Tiverton with loads of indoor and outdoor fun. Andy was quick to reply and help out with any issues that we had during our stay, even offering to get fans delivered as it was a bit hot in the night. The only negative aspect of our stay was that the kitchen was not well cleaned before our arrival, particularly the oven and fridge. We have advised Andy, so hopefully it was a one-off.

Perfect, quiet location for relaxing and going to many local attractions.

The cottage is extremely clean and has all the facilities and equipment you need. Bed 2 not brilliant but does the job. Sofa is completely uncomfortable such that we used a couple of garden chairs instead. We would have liked a shelf in the bathroom but that’s just our preference. All in all a lovely place to stay.

The property was very spacious and well equipped.

It's a good base as there are lots of places to visit near by. It's a shame that the local shop and Post Office are no longer open in the village. We enjoyed our stay at Tus Nua

A comfortable, Clean modern Cottage in a small village within easy reach of Minehead with a good choice of shops and Supermarkets.

We had a great time exploring the local area. The historic village of Dunster and Castle are only a couple of miles distant from Carhampton.

A lovely property very clean & modern, well equipped.

Good position to visit various places & great off road parking. Well worth a visit.

Lovely, recently built house.

Well maintained. Close to various different amenities. We had a lovely weekend away and would certainly consider a return. It was quiet, warm and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped.

This was our second stay at Tus Nua.

It is a lovely cottage, located perfectly for exploring Devon and Somerset. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, with lots of space. It is perfect for a family stay.

A few more cups would be useful.

Also, the information regarding recycling seems to be out of date as to which box and bag should be used. The collection day was Thursday rather than Wednesday for recycling, and it looked as if the dustbin was to be emptied as we left the property on Friday. However, the property was very clean and comfortable, and we had a very pleasant stay.

This was our first family holiday with our little boy and we had a great time.

The cottage had absolutely everything that we needed and couldn’t have asked for more. It really was a home away from home. We were unsure how our little one would react about being in unfamiliar surroundings but he absolutely loved it. The location was perfect and was a great base for exploring the beautiful surroundings. Plenty to do so no bored days for us. We would certainly consider coming back again. Thanks to Andy for ensuring we had a good break.

Beautiful home and lovely caring owner.

The house is just 4 miles from Minehead and just up the road from Dunster village, the castle and Dunster beach. We enjoyed nice weather during the daytime so all in all a lovely break and just what we needed. Thank you

We had a great week for half term at Tus Nua cottage.

A great base and location for exploring the area but the cottage itself was everything we wanted and more. The owner had thought about little details, from washing up sponges to a charger plug for phones. The cottage was clean and welcoming and we'll definitely be back.

Had pretty much everything you would need. Owner was easily contactable when needed, but excellent information provided about the cottage and plenty of leaflets etc for the local area.

This cottage has been so thoughtfully designed for families.

It had absolutely everything we could need (cot, toys, high chair, stair gates, children's books etc.) which made the whole stay so relaxing. It was spotlessly clean too. The guest book and suggestions for things to do locally was also incredibly helpful. We had a wonderful time here and would highly recommend it!

Very well appointed modern house.

Really good facilities for younger children. Lots of drawer and wardrobe space. Off road parking for two cars. Well positioned for visits to Exmoor and West Somerset. Nice walk through to Blue Anchor on a public footpath through fields. Some good restaurants in nearby Minehead in particular the Wheelhouse (booking needed)

Cottage was clean tidy and very spacious.

It was very well equipped. Could not wish for a better place to stay. The bottle of wine was also a welcome treat when we arrived. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family. A big thank you to Andy.

Perfect for families and well located for trips to Somerset or Devon. It provided a home away from home! Welcome gifts were a lovely surprise too. Would definitely return.

Wonderful holiday home.

The owner has thought of everything with stair gates, highchairs, toys, stroller etc available to use. I would definitely recommend this holiday home to those with younger children. The swings and slide were a hit with our two boys. Also given the currently climate I was concerned about the cleanliness of the property but I need not have worried. It was absolutely spotless and I liked that cleaning products, hand soap etc were available to use. I would certainly stay here again, thank you.

We had a wonderful stay at Tus Nua Cottage.

It is well kitted out for families which enabled us to make it a real home from home whilst we were there. It's in a good location for access to a range of local villages, beaches and activities and the map in the kitchen was a lovely touch to help us plan our days. Andy provided us with some really useful information prior to our visit and was quick to respond to queries. Overall a great place to stay.

A beautifully clean house.

I felt very confident that all of the covid cleaning had been carried out, which took a lot of stress out of a 1st time away for a very long time. The house is surprisingly large. The photograph on the website makes it look quite small but it isn't . A lovely welcome 'pack' was waiting, including hand sanitiser and wipes Full marks from me. The 'information file' for the property covers everything you could imagine. All questions answered within (Also, each page was encased in plastic covering - another brownie point) Highly recommend, you will have a wonderful place for a holiday.

Tus nua was a lovely warm, clean comfortable holiday home.

Would recommend staying there . It was very well equiped and very child friendly. Our granddaughters loved the toys and books and DVDs provided and of course, the swings and slide in the garden. Beds were so comfortable too.beautiful big dining kitchen with lovely oak furniture and child locks on the cupboards for young children. No minus points at all which made for a very enjoyable holiday despite the rain and wind. Plenty of places to visit, minehead, dunster, Lyndon and lynmouth, blue anchor bay etc . Was very impressed with Tus Nua.

The cottage was spotless, one of the best equipped we have visited.

Andrew the owner was very helpful, and the welcome pack was very needed after the journey. The heating took a while to get used to but the bed was very comfortable. Good selection of dvds. All in all a great holiday.

Great cottage with all the amenities you could need in perfect location for exploring local area.

Only suggestion for improvement would be a replacement photo of living room. We all agreed photos make it seem much bigger than it actually is and first reaction is consistently “oh that’s small”.

There is no mobile signal, no decent wifi signal, no tumble dryer and no radiators on which washing can be dried - just 2 tiny glass electric heaters.

Which were off all the time. The property was very dirty with mouldy black bathroom, just the one bathroom which we had to bleach on arrival. The front garden was full of huge weeds which our kids enjoyed pulling out. We sprayed weedkiller ourselves as we were there for 4 weeks and we have standards even if the owner and cleaner do not. The back garden was mowed on day 1 of our stay only, and then left so the lawn became overgrown and unusable by the kids. The place was crammed full of baby stuff, even a pram, which we did not need and we had to put it all in the shed to survive! The kitchen was filthy, with a stinking recycle bin and minging dishwasher. The drawers and cupboards were dirty and full of crumbs. Even the ironing board was in bits, this was the only one of our complaints the owner dealt with - he sent another cheapo one from Argos. Oh Joy! We were there for 4 weeks, no cleaner turned up and the owner said he was not paying for a cleaner as Sykes could not make him do so. We did get a linen change, but had to beg. The heating is controlled by the owner via wifi and rarely was it on - even when we begged. What a Scrooge!

Beautiful cottage, exceptionally comfortable a real home from home in a perfect location for visiting west Somerset and surrounding area.

Although only the two of us this cottage is ideal for families with plenty of entertainment indoors and out with the sturdy swings and slide on a lawned area. Well equipped, off road parking, BBQ, fire pit and much, much more, really didn't want to come him

Lovely cottage with a really homely feel, very child friendly throughout with the swing/slide in the garden, plastic tableware window limiters and option for stair gates.

Close to Dunster, Minehead Beach and lots to do! We were very lucky with the weather and had a perfect week together!

The communication with Andy the owner was excellent.

The cottage was lovely. Really clean and everything you needed. Even a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. The cottage was nice and warm and didn’t need to adjust the heating. Bed comfy and towels soft. The only thing I didn’t find comfortable was the sofa. Couldn’t seem to get comfy on it at all. The phone signal and WiFi was really good and didn’t have a problem with it at all. Didn’t like the local pub, the butchers arms. Very dated and limited food and drinks and a really busy road to cross to walk to it. Can’t fault the cottage though. Had a nice relaxing week

Great location with only a short drive to Minehead.

Very well set out for families. Mainly very clean but could do with a deep clean if I was being picky. Fabulous that a cot / baby facilities were provided. Saved us space in the car. Although a blackout blind in the front bedroom would be great. Didn’t find the settee all that comfortable but it wouldn’t stop us from returning. Owner kept in touch and was very polite.

A wonderful cottage!

Superbly equipped and presented, spotlessly clean with a very friendly and attentive owner! Suits both couples and families with excellent positioning to see all of the sights that West Somerset has to offer. I can not recommend this house highly enough and will, without a doubt, definitely be staying here again. Many thanks for a great week!

We holiday in The UK several times a year and usually opt for 4/5* luxury premises, Tus Nua is rated as 5* luxury and we had a lovely week here however we would rate it as a good 4*.

It's very nice but did not meet a 'luxury' rating in our opinion. The good: Lovely clean, compact newly built house in a quiet culdesac very close to the beautiful village of Dunster, Minehead and with a lovely beach a short walk from your door which the children really enjoyed. The owner was very friendly and helpful and finding and accessing the premises was easy and stress free. Facilities were good and the beds were really lovely and comfortable. Decor is modern and neutral and children's play area in the garden was a real plus. The location is close to lots of places to visit by car and te heating system kept the house warm and comfortable. There were lots of baby equipment available, which we didn't require but would be priceless for those visiting with babies. Not so good: The living area isn't very cosy, it's small and the seating is very uncomfortable and impracticable for a family of 6. We found the hot water system a challenge as it is very strictly set and doesnt provide enough hot water for the day. You need to use the shower to run a hot bath ( as the tap temp is limited) which was fine but the booster didn't heat quickly enough to enable the family to all wash throughout the day. Basic essentials are very limited ie toilet roll & bin bags (1 spare roll and 1 tiny bin bag for a family of 6 for a week) which Is unusual in our experience for 'luxury' 5* accommodation which you have paid a premium for. overall we enjoyed our week here and would recommend this cottage to others as a good 4* Rather than a 'luxury' 5* accommodate.

An excellent cottage, well located and equipped to make the most of our holiday.

Three generations shared the facilities of Tus Nua, and this worked well. The owner was very helpful and the little touches meant we had a really chilled time. From start to finish the booking process was a breeze, and we look forward to booking our next break soon.

The Tus Nua cottage has the "WOW" factor.

Very well fitted out with all the modern conveniences you could expect. The cottage was well presented and very clean. The welcome pack was most welcome. The cottage is well situated to explore Somerset and surrounds and after a day out it was a pleasure to come home to. Would highly recommend this cottage to families with children and and those without out children because it would suit every type of visitor. Congratulations to the owner for doing such a great job.

All very good, but a thorough dusting would help and for the price paid some more loo roll/kitchen roll would have been appreciated - only a petty gripe.

Oh, and maybe make it clearer when the rubbish has to go out as the previous holidaymakers hadn't left the bins out and we had to contact the owner to let them know that unfortunately the bin was overflowing by the time we left. Thanks

This cottage is well situated to access the Devon area.

It was well equipped, clean and tidy. It was lovely to have garden play equipment for our grandson. We had lovely weather so was able to take advantage of the garden and barbecue. We received a nice welcome pack most appreciated. Good information pack, even though we did find the recycling a little unusual not what we are used to. We visited MInehead, Dunster and Minehead beaches, Dunster and the castle. Lots of lovely place to see in the surrounding area.

Was very comfortable, A home from home.

There literally was no complaints about any of the adults or children. Lots of lovely days out near by, one of the best cottages on our list so far.

It would be nice if the tea pots had none dribble spouts.

Thoroughly pleasant stay

We had a fantastic stay at Tus Nua, we booked the property for a week at Christmas.

The owner very kindly decorated the property with a Xmas tree and made it look very festive. The property was spotless, and the beds were so comfortable. Tus Nua has everything you require for a fantastic holiday, there's a pushchair, stairgates, cot all provided if you have young children. The beach, supermarkets and beautiful countryside are all within easy reach. Dunster Castle is a few minutes drive away, which was beautiful. Highly recommend this property.

Tús Nua is fabulous for families – superbly equipped for travellers with babies & toddlers.

Those with older kids will love the nearby steam railway and beaches. The house is cosy, fresh and beautifully appointed… everything has been thought of to facilitate a superb relaxing break.

We had a wonderful time at Tus Nua cottage and will definitely hope to return in the future.

The cottage was well equipped and very thoughtfully designed to provide a lovely haven of tranquillity surrounded by beautiful country and coastal walks and providing a warm and welcoming return at the end of the day.
