Lovely location and nice to have steam railway running behind would have benefited from a good spring clean, cobwebs and bathroom floor and kitchen etc, lovely outlook although lanes quite narrow to get to the property

We had an enjoyable and relaxing stay at Little Barton.

Mrs Hobbs is a lovely lady and made us welcome. The scenery surrounding the cottage is stunning and we found plenty of places to visit reasonably near by. The only downside for us was the very old sofa, chair and bed which weren't very comfortable. They were satisfactory for one week but any longer could be an issue for some people. Never the less we had a nice time thank you.

A comfortable cottage in a peaceful and excellent setting.

Brenda the owner (a lovely lady) was happy to help with anything you needed to know. We had a really lovely time there.

Accommodation is cosy but adequate. Had the weather been better we would have spent more time in the vary large grounds. Ideal for our dog. The oven could do with updating, as door didn't close properly. The only negative is the very narrow road. A bit on the scary side. Thankfully we only met one car. There is no alternative route. But on the whole a beautiful relaxing setting.

We had a very enjoyable staythe property is about a mile off the main road with lovely countryside views from the two patio areas.

The main room and bedroom are bigger than I expected with a comfy bed and,although small, the kitchen was well equipped. The owner and her family were welcoming and friendly without being intrusive and the house is well located for visiting Minehead, Watchet, Dunster and the local steam railway which has a station less than a mile away.

This is an amazingly peaceful location.

We really enjoyed our short stay. The cottage is comfortable and well located . Owner very welcoming and perfect for dogs.

Beautiful location.

Great fun to see the steam train go by & to walk down by the stream. A very nice property in good very condition, just a little cramped in the bedroom & bathroom. Make sure you follow directions to the property.

A snug gem for two.

A most enjoyable stay. Warm, cosy cottage in a fabulous setting, with a very kind, welcoming host and a friendly dog (for those who arrive dog-less!). So relaxing and peaceful, we hope very much to return.

Noticed on other feed backs that it needed updating but this has not been resolved the gate leg table still slopes on both sides and has been held up by a large rubber, the carpet is practically threadbare as the door mat, part of the skirting in the kitchen came away, bathroom could do with a good clean or painting, only 6 coat hangers not enough for 2 people, on every other rental properties I have been to and I have been to over 60 there has always been a small carton of milk a few tea bags and some sugar but nothing here driving for 7 hours in the rain we needed a cupper.

I have just arrived at my 2nd property and what a difference everything you need including milk, tea, coffee, biscuits, chocolate drink, very updated and £80 cheaper

Nice cottage.

Huge garden the dog loved and could run free. Lovely family very welcoming. Toilet flush needs sorting and takes ages to fill.

Smaller than expected.

Very dated and could do with an update. Out in the middle of nowhere. Very very narrow roads to get to property. Photos show property in a better lite than in real life.

Difficult to find but worth the time and effort it took .

Absolutely amazing garden and views .a little gem .our dog really enjoyed the freedom .

Lovely view from the cottage, lots of space in the garden.

The size of the accommodation adequate for two people and one medium - small dog. It hadn't been cleaned well the kitchen was grubby and the bed linen had dirty marks ,which we assumed it had been dropped on the floor when making the bed up as the bedroom floor was dusty. The accommodation is shabby and not well maintained kitchen cup board doors loose. It is also very unusual that guest folder wasn't supplied by either the owner or letting company. It is high lighted that the lane down to this property is narrow with few passing places. We felt this does need to be clearer,It is not a pleasant drive down that lane quite challenging at times.

generally clean but needs updating as kitchen units falling apart furnishings in general needs updating and shower tray needs new sealant skirting boards needs cleaning and repainting.

An idyllic little cottage with use of the owner’s large grounds.

Our dog, Spike the Australian kelpie, absolutely loved being able to explore the field right on the doorstep. Lovely, quiet location. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back one day.

This cottage is in a great location and very quiet and peaceful.

It is a good size for two people and is generally adequately equipped. It could benefit from some updating particularly in the lounge area where the seating for the table and the sofa isn’t very comfortable. The bed is very comfortable. It would also benefit from a good clean but we did enjoy our time there.

We were warm and comfortable, splendid old furniture, very kind personable host.

Excellent relaxed stay if you want peaceful togetherness, sounds of owls and steam trains. Not for you if you want noisy/bleeping steamy, kitchen appliances but why would you on holiday ?

We very much enjoyed our stay at Little Barton and great for the dog.

Lovely location, setting and hostess. Not a criticism but the interior could do with a bit of up dating.- perhaps a new sofa and upgrading of the kitchen. Will happily recommend to others.

This is a beautiful quiet peaceful location.

The cottage is beautiful and absolutely sufficiently big enough for two people and a pooch. The dining room table would be the only thing I found hard to use comfortably as the sides slopes down making it hard to eat and rest your elbows on while chatting at the table as you do when on holiday. The bed, settee and seating area was very comfortable. Plenty area outside to sit and watch the magnificent sunsets. Would highly recommend and would love to go back again one day. Lovely place to stay and would love to return.

Lovely settings. Peace and quiet. Steam train a delight. The owner was lovely very kind and easy to approach. Great asset to Sykes this place.

What a lovely cottage.

Set in beautiful countryside with a huge garden. Everything we needed for a restful week. The railway was an added bonus well worth a ride we went to Minehead for the day. Brenda the owner and Phoebe her little dog were very welcoming.

Had a lovely break away here.

When we arrived the host thought we were a day early, we weren't, but the property was ready for us and she was fine. It was a lovely setting, and we had great weather.Her dog, pheobe, became our new friend, waiting for us every morning with her toy to play with. The local roads are quite narrow, but drive carefully and you will be fine. Will definitely consider going again in the future. The locals at the near by pub were welcoming and made us feel at home.

Property is an annexe to main house.

Beautiful outlook with huge sloping grounds that extend to a small stream which our dog loved. Great location for exploring the Quantocks and surrounding area. We loved our stay.

A lovely spot to stay especially with a dog.

The spacious grounds were a great bonus, but the narrow lanes to the cottage are not for the faint hearted. Pleasant walk along the track to the station, where you can enjoy a cream tea in the garden, or take a steam train ride with your dog (£3 return for the dog). I can recommend .the nearby Rocking Horse for lunch. My dog enjoyed the doggy ice cream on the hot day we visited. Comfortable cottage and lovely holiday.. .

Lovely cottage with beautiful views and plenty to do in area.

Owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. Cottage was comfortable - kitchen could do with little updating but this is not a criticism. Getting to the property is a challenge because of very narrow lanes/tracks - but whole area is like this. We would love to make a return visit.

Little Barton is set in an idyllic spot!

We were blessed with good weather most of the time, and were able to sit out every day. In fact, we parked the car when we arrived, and didn't use it again until we left... Brenda made us very welcome, while also being unobtrusive, and we had several visits (and doggy kisses) from Phoebe, and eventually even from shy Lottie! The deck overlooking the river and dell is wonderful, but the view from the cottage itself is pretty special, too. We saw woodpeckers, rabbits, and pheasants in the garden, and loved the steam trains passing by on the 4 days that they ran. The cottage itself was good, and plenty warm enough when the weather cooled. We would definitely consider returning if the cottage is let in future years. Thank you Brenda for a lovely, restful break (and for the apples from your tree), and thank you Phoebe for all of your affection toward us!

THE VIEWS ARE LOVELY BUT THE COTTAGE NEEDS UPDATING THE SOFA AND CHAIR ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WE ENJOYED THE STEAM TRAINS GOING PAST.

IF YOU WANT A QUITE WEEKS HOLIDAY THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU.

A really lovely little cottage to stay in within stunning grounds.

Perfect location sitting on the top of a hill with a beautiful stream and woodland glade at the bottom of the hill (garden). Owner really friendly and accommodating. Would definitely like to visit again! The bottle of wine on arrival was gratefully received after several hours travelling. Thank you

Comfortable accommodation in a really lovely spot.

Verdant tranquility sited to catch the sun of an evening after a day exploring and with the added distinctiveness of the heritage railway chugging past in the day. A great base to explore the Quantocks or Exmoor or up northwards to the coast.

The property wasn't as good as what is was advertised, it wasn't very clean with dirt and dust in places.

The TV was very basic with no freeview at all, I took my own dvd player which I was glad I did. The shower had no power, so the water was very slow on coming out. I couldn't leave the door open (it was very hot in the living room) as there dog would come in and eat my dogs food. There was only one walk you could do if you didn't want to drive anywhere, but my dog Meg had to be on the lead as it was right next to the railway line. The only good thing about the place was the garden as it was lovely and Meg loved running around it. I ended up leaving a day early as it was very uncomfortable staying in the cottage, as it is VERY small.

Was a lovely place with lovely views easy access to most areas lots to do in the surrounding areas.

Little Barton was in a delightful beautiful location with fantastic grounds and woodlands, an idyllic get away from the rat race.

Great to have the steam train passing by. The cottage was like home from home well equipped, cosy and comfortable. Brenda and Derek were wonderful, sociable hosts and the welcome bottle of wine was really appreciated.

Property is very tired and in need of refurb particularly the kitchen and bathroom.

The location is wonderful and the views fantastic and the hosts very friendly & lovely people.

Had a lovely week and although cottage very small and quite old fashioned the views were lovely and very peaceful.

No wi fi and very few channels on the TV so really was like going back 20 years in time so make sure you take a good book with you.

The hosts Derek and Brenda were welcoming .friendly and helpful,it should be called Little piece of paradise. We would definitely recommend it.

The cottage location is excellent with great views, near to a lovely village.

However, the facilities are very old, tired and shabby, and are badly need of updating. The owners, who live on site, were really welcoming and helpful.

Fabulous cottage, outstanding location and lovely hosts, spot on.

The setting of Little Barton cottage is very beautiful, you might almost say idyllic.

Our hosts Derek & Brenda were really lovely, and very helpful. The location is ideal for visiting the northwest corner of the Somerset coast, and into the northeast of Devon too. A perfect setting for a really peaceful and relaxing break away, and the local food is lovely too.

We just had a short break and were delighted by the cottage and the welcome we received upon arrival at the cottage Brenda and her husband were very helpful and knowledgeable about where to go in the local area and because of this we had a marvellous time.
