Remote property, but just what we wanted!

Peaceful, quiet and perfect for a relaxing holiday

What a beautiful place The Barn is and the setting is just wonderful.

The interior is very homely and welcoming, but just to point out if you have mobility issues then be mindful that there are stairs down into the kitchen and also stairs down into the bathroom. There is no shower cubicle, only a mixer top with shower so you have to stand in the bath to use this. The host Amy is lovely and very helpful .

We had an amazing short getaway at The Barn.

Being surrounded by nature, the lovely energy of the sheep and lambs, the little chicken coop, and plenty of squirrels was exactly what we needed. It’s the perfect spot for couples looking to recharge. The property itself has so much character, and staying on a farm added such a nice touch to our stay. We also made great use of the decent sound system and the big-screen TV for some cosy movie nights. The host was fantastic, very welcoming, and always in touch. I was honestly shocked to see a 1-star review here. Regarding the logs, yes, you can get extra for £10, but the amount provided was huge, and the quality was far superior to the basic £4 bags you’d find at a supermarket. As for the cleanliness complaints I read, we didn't encounter any serious issues at all. If we visit the area again, The Barn will definitely be our go-to spot.

. ", but it wasn't working and the owner said you can buy more logs from me for £10, it is very cold, I am wearing a jumper, it is a shame it is so cold. Logs could be bought in the local village for £4. Whilst I knew it was a pet friendly location with "one behaved pet welcome", but I would expect the dog hairs to be hoovered off the rugs. I could draw a line in the dust in the cupboards. If this is the standard of Skyes Holiday Cottages I am not booking with you again. It is not up to the standard of over cottage I have stayed at.

A delightful unique barn conversion in such a relaxing and wonderful location.

It was wonderful to be greeted will a fully lit log burner and the welcome pack was excellent. The garden was fully secure if you have dogs. We would recommend it.

The property is nice and the location is very relaxing.

However, it may need a little maintenance with the doors being quite stiff and hard to lock. There was also a lot of cobwebs and dog hairs but otherwise it was clean. The bed is uncomfy and left us both with sore backs. Owner is really nice and friendly, however, and fixed an issue we had with the cold water tap in the bathroom really swiftly. Directions to find the property could do with a line to make it clearer you need to go down a lane off Merridge Hill to get to the property.

A lovely weekend in a lovely barn, wish we could have spent more time in the accommodation, whilst we were visiting family.
