The property

New Barn is a characterful, single-storey holiday cottage set in the heart of the Dorset countryside, on the edge of the peaceful village of Winterborne Stickland.

Built among a quadrangle of converted former farm buildings, this inviting retreat is ideal for couples, friends, or a small family seeking a relaxed break with plenty of space to unwind both indoors and out.

The accommodation is arranged entirely on the ground floor and centres around a bright, open-plan living area designed for easy, sociable living.

The kitchen is well equipped for preparing everything from simple breakfasts to hearty evening meals, while the dining area provides a comfortable setting for shared moments around the table.

At the end of the day, the sitting area offers a welcoming place to relax, with a woodburning stove adding warmth and character, particularly appreciated during cooler months.

Two thoughtfully presented bedrooms each benefit from the convenience of en-suite facilities.

The king-size bedroom includes an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower over, ideal for a long soak after a countryside walk, while the twin bedroom features an en-suite shower room, making the layout especially practical for guests sharing.

Outside, New Barn enjoys an enclosed, private garden with a lawned area, patio, and picnic bench, perfect for morning coffee or relaxed outdoor meals in fine weather.

Guests also have access to a larger shared front lawn and a games room equipped with a pool table, table football, and air hockey, offering entertainment for all ages.

Winterborne Stickland is well placed for exploring Dorset’s highlights.

With easy off-road dog walking up the bridleway opposite and up to the woods, or through the adjacent farmyard on the owner’s farm, onto the extensive network of farm tracks. Perfect for groups to gather and celebrate birthdays, family reunions or wedding parties, with two popular venues nearby, Milton Abby and Bryanston School. Grouped around an attractive grassed courtyard on the owner's 1350-acre working farm, with sheep and lambs grazing at the farm's front, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife to admire like hares, deer, and barn owls, along with seasonal blooms like orchids, wild garlic and bluebells in the nearby, all waiting to be discovered during your stay.
