    “Overall a lovely accommodation.”

    Great location in the countryside. Cosy open plan living area with an excellent log burner which heats the large space very efficiently. Plenty of crockery and glasses and everything needed in the kitchen. No storage for perishable foodstuffs strangely. We had an issue with the door of the en-suite which wouldn’t close. On contacting the manager we were informed this was due to an earlier water leak in the loft. Apparently no chance of fixing it as it needed to dry out completely. It would ...

On contacting the manager we were informed this was due to an earlier water leak in the loft. Apparently no chance of fixing it as it needed to dry out completely. It would have been better to have been informed of this before we arrived. The other annoying thing was the oven light wasn’t working and when I tried to remove the glass cover to endeavour to change the bulb. It was so black and gunged up it wouldn’t unscrew. Small things but I feel it takes away the higher grading of the property. Plenty of storage in the bedrooms. Maybe a king size bed would improve the main bedroom. There were only four people in our party and seating six in the lounge area would be very tight. We did enjoy our stay and the addition of a Christmas tree was lovely. Would recommend and we would stay again.

    David, thank you for your booking and for choosing to spend Christmas with us. I will check the storage for perishable food stuffs. Beyond the fridge, there should be a cupboard or two left empty for this but sometimes people do move the crockery etc around. We’ll also check the oven light. The bed in the main bedroom is a king sized bed. Re the water leak which prevented the en suite bathroom door closing fully, we can only apologise again. The leak in the loft happened during the stay of the visitors the week before, and whilst we repaired the leak immediately we were made aware of it, we didn’t appreciate the swelling effect on the bathroom door until the end clean, and it did need time to fully dry out. Please do come back and see us again and we will try to tick every box for you next time. We appreciate your feedback and will be taking appropriate action where we can. Happy New Year to you all. Arranged entirely on the ground floor, the cottage centres around a sociable open-plan living area, where vaulted, beamed ceilings add a sense of heritage and a woodburning stove brings warmth and atmosphere, perfect after a day exploring the countryside.
