The lodge at summerdown was perfect exactly what we wanted peace and tranquility with the pond right in front of our lodge the ducks waddled up every morning for bread The lodge was well equipped with everything you needed The beds were comfortable the sofa was comfortable there was even blankets for when it went chilly of an evening for on the decking seating area all the cooking facilities was there washing up liq, washing tabs, dishwasher tabs, kitchen roll ,toilet roll vacuum,mop, ...

The lodge at summerdown was perfect exactly what we wanted peace and tranquility with the pond right in front of our lodge the ducks waddled up every morning for bread The lodge was well equipped with everything you needed The beds were comfortable the sofa was comfortable there was even blankets for when it went chilly of an evening for on the decking seating area all the cooking facilities was there washing up liq, washing tabs, dishwasher tabs, kitchen roll ,toilet roll vacuum,mop, dustpan and brush broom washing airer, all ur cooking appliances I would definitely recommend this lodge for a peaceful relaxing getaway 5* to the host’s of the lodge

“There are not enough stars to award!”

This lodge is amazing and the hosts even more so. The information provided by the hosts was very helpful. Not just how to check in but also about the local area and things to see and do. The lodge had so many extras, we really only needed our clothes and toiletries. Towels and bedding were included as expected but there were other extras such as toilet and kitchen rolls. A variety of spices, tea bags and a Nespresso Vertuo coffee maker with lots of pods. Everything was very comfortable but, if I could make one suggestion, it would be for the addition of an armchair. One of our party has limited mobility and could not use the sofa/corner unit, which was very comfortable, because of the lack of an armchair on the left had side. An armchair would have improved her stay. This is something we should have considered when we chose our accommodation. We will definitely consider staying here again

“We had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend this lodge.”

It was absolutely spotless, beautifully presented, and had everything we needed for a comfortable holiday. The view over the lake, with the ducks right outside, was breathtaking and so peaceful. If you’re looking for a tranquil, relaxing break, this is the perfect place. The surroundings are quiet, and everyone we met in the area was friendly and polite. The only thing to be aware of is that the beach is around a 20-minute walk away, and if you’re not driving, there isn’t a great deal nearby. There are a few places to eat, but they’re mostly traditional pub food. If you’re after lots of shops, restaurants, and a busier atmosphere, you’ll need to drive into the main area say Weston. One tip for dog owners: when we visited, the beach the tide was in at around 8:15 am, which was a lovely time to enjoy the beach with the dogs. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

“Excellent accommodation owner was very helpful.”

This is our second time we’ve been here and again was excellent. Would recommend this accommodation absolutely excellent and a great location right by the lake, wildlife and abundance. Small issue last year there was an EV charger on site. It seems that they’ve took that away. This was situated by reception at the golf course again went down there could not find one.

“Very well equipped lodge, beautiful quiet setting, perfect for walks on the beach and visiting the surrounding area.”

We had a lovely stay, the hosts were great, we had a couple of issues that we had to contact the hosts about. Sadly there were cleaning issues that the hosts were unaware of; but measures have been put in place to prevent any problems going forward. Having said this we had a great stay.

“From the moment you pull up at the accomodation it was beautiful.”

Property is positioned right on the lake, where you can sit out on the balcony and admire the view. The flat walk around the park was ideal for my little one to practice riding a bike. The properties are quite far apart from eachother, which meant we had a lovely grass bit next to us (not enclosed), which the dogs loved running around on a long lead. When walking into the property it was cosy, clean and fresh. It was a great size with plenty of room, had a large fridge and freezer, washing machine and a dishwasher. The beds were very comfy, the master bedroom had ample of space. It was great we had two bathrooms one with a shower and the other with a good size bath (with a removal shower head). . There was even a tap outside to clean our sand shoes! The hosts provided a couple of games incase of a rainy day All in all a fantastic break which was peaceful and relaxing! We will definitely be returning. Hosts were great and wished us a lovely holiday! Thank you ❤️

“Summerdown was a wonderful retreat that offered relaxation, yet encompassed a home from home experience.”

It was exactly what my family needed. It was so well equipped and yet it offered a sense of comfort and tranquility that catered for all needs. I have two children on the autistic spectrum who have difficulty settling and coping in new environments. Summerdown offered the quiet space that they needed and homely feel in a tourist spot that can be overwhelming, we had a fabulous time that catered for my family’s needs, it took the stress away that usually is involved with a holiday. I would definitely recommend summerdown it was wonderful, thank you x

“Summerdown was the perfect accommodation for my elderly parents and ourselves.”

Just 3 steps with a handrail up to the very well presented lodge on the edge of the lake. Spotlessly clean inside and very well appointed. Outdoor furniture was very comfortable. Area was very quiet and the whole site was exceptionally well maintained. Owners were very responsive to questions raised in advance. A wonderful relaxing time had by all.

Just to relax and I have a elderly dog who loved just watching from the ducks . The only slight minus was we ran out of Toilet Tissue But apart from that we loved it.

Quiet location and grounds well kept. Communication with the owner was clear and provided codes and location of local shops etc. Very good stay for a rest and the local National Trust beach was great to walk the dog. Great find and pleased to recommend it to anyone who enjoys a rest!

The pretty village of Bream offers magnificent views of the Royal Forest of Dean to the Cotswold Hills beyond. Clearwell with its ancient caves and eerie caverns and the village of St Briavels with its castle are also close by. The magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest, offers numerous trails that can be explored on foot, cycle or horseback.
