Enjoying a peaceful location in the heart of the Exmoor National Park, just outside the village of Wheddon Cross, rests this delightful barn conversion.
Red Deer Cottage is well-equipped for a family break, and with the tranquil countryside right on your doorstep, the cottage offers a real paradise away from normal life.
After a long day of rambling the luscious outdoors, kick off your walking boots and find the open-plan living space, where you can sink into the settee whilst catching up on your favourite shows.
Rustle up a feast in the kitchen, assisted by the electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher, so you won’t have to lift a finger when it comes to washing up!
Serve your culinary treats at the dining table or take the evening outside as you relax upon the outdoor furniture, sipping on a glass of fizz whilst you soak up the peaceful surroundings.
As the night grows darker, retire to the bedrooms to catch some rest; the master bedroom features a king-size bed and lovely balcony, providing a splendid overlook of the rural surroundings, along with an en-suite bathroom where you can pamper for the day.
There is also a double bedroom and bathroom upstairs, whilst a shower room and twin bedroom complete the downstairs, providing plenty of options.
Get to know your surroundings better by hiking Dunkery Beacon and Webbers Post or cycle through the rugged terrains of Blagdon Wood.
The village of Wheddon Cross is home to a welcoming pub where you can enjoy a hearty meal after a wild ramble, plus there is a general store selling own-label goods and fresh produce.
Visit the nearby town of Dunster, offering hours of adventure including Dunster Castle with history displayed in angelic gardens, the Old Mill and Castle itself.
Uncover the monastery of Cleeve Abbey, or visit the harbour town of Watchet to explore the Watchet Harbour Lighthouse, or head further afield and find many alluring beaches along the South West Coastal Path, including the bustling seaside town of Minehead where there is a promenade with a selection of fish and chip shops and ice cream stands.

What guests are saying
We were so impressed with red deer cottage.
It’s clean roomy and very welcoming. A lovely welcome pack was provided. We just felt so relaxed in the lovely tranquil atmosphere and lovely garden. We would definitely go back again if the opportunity presents itself.
The cottage is beautifully designed and presented, with everything one might need supplied (including quilted loo paper - excellent).
The kitchen is extremely well equipped. The cottage is spacious and well laid out to a high standard. French windows lead out into a grassed area with seating areas. The setting in the depths of Exmoor is magical and very quiet, and the nearest shop is only a five minute drive away (along with pub and garage).
Lovely cottage in a wonderful setting, so peaceful and great place to get away and relax.
