Scrambles Cottage is a lovely property in a beautiful location.

The table and chairs in the front garden, with a view, were the absolute highlight. The property is very well set out, with all the amenities we required. The owners had also left a very generous welcome pack, which was very much appreciated. It was a really comfortable stay. Our only downside was the back garden. Even though the description mentions a shared exit to the back garden, it wasn’t clear that the garden itself is shared. It came as a surprise to find washing hanging on the line when we arrived. This put us off using the garden for the duration of our stay and also felt uncomfortable, as the bathroom window faces out onto the garden at garden level. The glass was obviously not see‑through, but it would have been more comfortable to have had a blind.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful area with fantastic views across the valley.

Beds are very comfortable but, as mentioned by others, the seating in the lounge needs updating as becomes quite uncomfortable after about half an hour. As stated in the description, the stairs inside the cottage are very steep and not for the faint hearted. However, the description also states that the cottage is accessed outside by "a few steps"....this is very misleading as there are actually 18 very steep concrete stairs in a single flight!!!! Just as an aside, the description advertised that number 59 next door could also be booked for larger parties? Not sure if this is still the case as it appears to be occupied by someone who feels it's ok to use the front garden as a rubbish tip!?!?!?!? Not sure if the owners are aware but maybe an idea to pass it on so they can take the necessary action as it's not pleasant. Thank you
