“The property was very peaceful and in an idyllique situation with stunning views .”

The out door patio area and carefully placed bench in sunny positions were perfect for relaxing with a cup of tea or glass of wine and reading. The owner was very friendly , but not intrusive, introducing herself on the first evening and giving us lots of useful information about places to visit in the area. There was a lot to see all within 30 minutes drive. We had a very relaxing holiday and look forward to staying at the same property again as one week was just not long enough to fully ...

About the location

OKEFORD FITZPAINE

Sturminster Newton 4 miles.

Surrounded by a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the village of Okeford Fitzpaine boasts a local shop and pub, with further shopping facilities at nearby Sturminster Newton. The small market town of Sturminster Newton is set on the banks of the River Stour, reached via a graceful, six arch 15th century bridge, carrying a warning of deportation for those who damage it! The whole area acted as inspiration for the works of Thomas Hardy, who wrote Return of The Native whilst living in the town. The region is dotted with thatched cottages, rural walks, stunning country views, and fascinating towns, such as Sherborne, with its abbey and castle, whilst the beautiful Dorset Heritage coastline is also within easy reach, making this an ideal base all year round!

Note: This property does not accept children under the age of 8.
