Drover's

Drover's was a comfortable, peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

Everything was provided that you could possibly need , if not the owners who lived next door would try to provide it. The shower room was spacious and the shower easy to use with a good pressure. The bed was really comfortable and much bigger than an average double. The property is in the middle of the countryside with a couple of miles of small country lanes but there are plenty of passing places and we didn't have a problem. The garden across from the property was a lovely spot to sit out, unwind and listen to the birds. Drover's is a good place to be near all the tourist attractions Somerset has to offer. Plus walks and wildlife habitats on the Somerset levels.

Delightful cottage in the countryside with no passing traffic so very quiet and restful.

It was clean and had all facilities that we needed. John and Vicky were very friendly and we enjoyed the lemon cake slices and we would be happy to return in the future.

We had an absolutely wonderful week staying at Drovers Cottage and cannot recommend it highly enough.

From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The cottage was incredibly cosy, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. It made the perfect base for exploring the surrounding area and going on lots of day trips, yet it was always such a pleasure to return to the cosy cottage at the end of the day. Everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, and it’s clear that a great deal of care and attention has gone into making the cottage such a welcoming place to stay. The facilities were excellent throughout. The WiFi was fast and reliable, the shower was lovely, the bed was extremely comfortable, and there was plenty of storage space so we could properly settle in rather than living out of a suitcase. The whole place felt calm, warm, and genuinely like a home from home. One of the most thoughtful touches was the tea tray waiting for us on arrival, complete with slices of delicious homemade lemon drizzle cake. It was such a warm welcome and immediately set the tone for our stay. We’ve stayed in quite a number of holiday cottages over the years, and Drovers Cottage is definitely up there with the best. The comfort, attention to detail, and overall atmosphere really set it apart. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-appointed place to stay, and we would absolutely love to return in the future.

We felt so at home straight away, Drover's was the perfect base for exploring Somerset and the surrounding countryside is just magical.

A lovely base for exploring the Somerset Levels, so nice that many of the reserves were just 15 minutes away, and the walk to King's Sedgemoor Drain was really enjoyable too.

Accommodation was spacious, and we appreciated the cool living room during the heatwave! The use of a large garage to park in, and the orchard to wander in, was very much appreciated. Thank you for your hospitality, we hope to return.

Lovely relaxing stay.

Cottage is like home from home, cosy and comfy with everything we needed. This was a return visit and just as nice as two years ago.

The property was impeccably clean and well-equipped, The garden was a perfect spot. Located centrally to everything we wanted to do such as Cheddar Gorge and Dunster Castle was a real hidden gem. The hosts were welcoming and amazing and the lemon loaf was a delightful treat. I highly recommend Drovers to anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable getaway. Thank you so much!

A small but very cozy cottage, with all the facilities and equipment you need for a week away

We had a lovely stay in this well-presented little cottage in a very peaceful location.

We loved the colourful decor, with so many interesting little pictures, and a big selection of good books in the bookshelf. There were also lots of leaflets, maps and guides available. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom has a good walk-in shower, and the huge bed was very comfortable. There were DVDs in the cupboards, but no DVD player, as far as we could see. This didn't matter for us, as we were happy to watch the TV. We visited lots of Somerset stately homes, as well as Wells, Glastonbury and the Clarks village at Street. One evening we walked further down the lane, towards Sedgemoor, which was beautiful, so peaceful in the evening sun. Thank you, Vicky, for the lovely little posies of flowers in the cottage, the delicious lemon drizzle cake, and especially for rescuing my handbag from where I had inadvertently left it in the little church at the end of the lane! All in all, a lovely short break for us.

My wife and I felt that this cottage was one of the best we have stayed in, and we have stayed in many Sykes Cottages.

It was perfectly clean, and the owners were very helpful, and dealt swiftly with any issues (eg the TV developed a fault and was immediately replaced)The cottage was beautifully decorated.The WiFi was excellent! It was easy to control the temperature inside the cottage, and easy to work the fabulous shower, and also the appliances in the kitchen.There was a folder giving full instructions for everything.The countryside around the cottage is stunning, and the owners made available a large number of books, maps etc of walks and places to visit.There was also a huge library of books. Anybody booking this cottage for a holiday will have a very comfortable and stress-free stay.

The log burner helped to make lovely relaxing, peaceful evenings. We really enjoyed our stay with walks onto the Somerset levels from the door as well as being well placed for day trips to local towns and attractions. Lovely lemon drizzle cake too.

Well placed for walking and general exploring. Cottage comfy and well sized, even with a teen in tow. Conscientious and friendly owners. Certainly would consider a return visit.

Drovers is a very comfortable cottage.

It was clean and equipped with everything we needed. It is well placed for visiting places such as Glastonbury, Burnham-on-sea, Cheddar, Wells and Bath. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

Vicky was always available for any queries, had left us a most yummy lemon drizzle homemade cake and some milk.

The cottage was tastefully done and had everything one would need. The log burner added an even greater ambiance to the place and my daughters and I had a most wonderful holiday. Lots of amazing scenery within half an hour to an hour drive including the Cheddar gorges, Brean fort, Dunster Castle NT and the smallest and quaintest city in England!! All worth a visit. A lovely well equipped cottage in a peaceful location and yet ideally positioned for exploring the area.

The cottage was clean and the atmosphere welcoming. The beds were comfortable with the linen being nice and fresh. The bathroom had a very nice shower with all the other facilities being user friendly. The parking was excellent with lots of space. The owners were friendly and kindly left some cake for us. So all in all an excellent property which we would be more than happy to stay at again.

A fantastic bolt hole in rural Somerset.

Very quiet, very clean and well placed for the A39 which connects so much of that part of the county. Hosts made me very welcome, and were also very unobtrusive.

This charming cottage is extremely comfortable and located in a peaceful, rural setting.

The owners were most pleasant and we appreciated the delicious cake on arrival. Although there is no washing machine in the actual cottage which would have been a bonus, we were aware of this from the description and also that the owner would be happy to do laundry upon request. Facilities in the kitchen are excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the use of a private garden after a day of sightseeing. We would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to return at some time.

My daughter and me had a wonderful stay at Drovers Cottage.

Vicky was so welcoming and even bought over some games and books for my little girl. We really appreciated the lemon drizzle cake and milk. Thank you so much. The cottage and garden were perfect and Erin loved playing with Mouse, the lovely friendly cat. We went to Wookey Hole, Burnham on Sea and Minehead and the Glastonbury Tor. We would most definitely return and recommend this property for a relaxing break. X

'Everything' was superb.

'Drovers' is a comfortable and peaceful place to stay.

I liked the subtle use of colour in the property and the pictures and prints on the walls. The bed was very comfortable, with good quality bedding. I appreciated that it could be split into twin beds, on request, since I was staying with my daughter. There is an excellent walk direct from the cottage onto the Somerset Levels. I would definitely stay there again.

The owners were very friendly and available if necessary. Cottage is a little bit out of the way but is well placed for exploring the area. Wells is, of course, beautiful and Glastonbury, well, ‘far out!’ But still worth a visit for the experience.

The owners were very welcoming and the cottage was very nice.

The welcome biscuits etc were a nice touch. The cottage would benefit from having its own washing machine in it, the owner said she would use her own washing machine to wash our clothing but I found that unacceptable so took twelve days washing home with me. Having to ask to borrow a dvd from the owners list provided seemed odd, in the past when we’ve stayed in previous properties the dvds or cds have been left in the cottage for the holiday maker to use at will. Found this most unusual! Enjoyed our stay and it served it’s purpose for the R and R we required.

Our best ever self catering holiday property we've stayed at! Tastefully decorated , good quality comfortable beds and bedding. So peaceful as well. Brilliant location for exploring the levels, particularly by bike! Would definitely recommend.

Lovely welcome with cake.

Extremely clean cottage and well kept gardens also beautiful surroundings. Great wood fire with all the firewood you need also an absolute privilege to be allowed to rob the orchard. Lovely family, cat and dogs. We would certainly return. Martin Mulligan.

The property was immaculately clean and the owners were so helpful.

We brought our 7 month old baby with us and they thought of everything. They left us a cot, two different styles of high chair, toys and an inflatable baby bath. They even kindly gave us neurofen for him when he was struggling with teething. There was just about everything we could think of and there was a lovely garden to sit in.

Beautiful and relaxing cottage that was home from home.

My wife and I went with our two year old and we had such a lovely time. The owner Vicky was so helpful and welcoming and was there when you needed but left us to ourselves and gave us the complete break that we much needed. The weather wasn’t great but it made no difference to us as the cottage and surroundings made it so comfortable. It has everything you need, including a lovely little log burner for those chillier nights and a lovely garden opposite for when the sun does come out. The bed was extremely comfortable and the decor of the cottage made it feel so clean and cosy. When we did venture out we found things to do including Wookey Hole, Glastonbury Tor and Clarke’s shopping village. Plus a couple of lovely local walks. All in all a fantastic break and we can’t wait to come back! Thanks Vicky!

Everything about this cottage was just perfect.

From the minute we arrived after a long journey we felt at home, this continued throughout our stay. A really well thought out and executed little hideaway that was just perfect. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and often thought them good but this one simply out shone all the rest. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The tree was decorated, a lovely cake awaited our arrival as well as the log fire. Such a warm, cosy and clean cottage, and Vicky and John were so friendly. One of the loveliest places we have stayed on holiday.

It was very rural and consequently very quiet. The only sounds came from the birds and the sheep. The cottage itself was excellent - plenty of room for 2 people, very clean and it had everything we could possibly need. The provision of fresh flowers and some home baking just topped it all off.

This was by far the cleanest most comfortable and well equipped cottage we have stayed in so far. The area was so peaceful and my husband fully enjoyed cycling the quiet country lanes straight from our door. We would definitely come back. The cottage was very clean, tidy and well set up. Nice pictures on the walls. Lots of books and small touches like fresh garden flowers and also there was cake when we arrived. It was too warm for the wood burner but I imagine it would be nice and warm for a winter hideaway and there is a private garden where we sat in the autumn sun.

Location ideal for accessing local towns and amenities. Silent at night. Cottage was kitted out with quality furnishings. It was spotlessley clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Our hosts were lovely people, very friendly and helpful, eager to help if needed. Their customer service is exceptional and their property is immaculate. I would describe it as a home away from home. Cosy, comfortable, charming, welcoming and equipped with all you would need for a weekend stay all the way through to a 2 week stay and more. Its the little touches that make the difference, like a home baked cake left in the kitchen for your arrival. I cant recommend this property enough!!! A real gem! :-)

Everything in the cottage was of the highest quality, The location was superb, tranquil settings but close to lots of attractions. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Home made cake in a tin, tea and coffee and fresh milk were waiting for us. Cannot fault this holiday home.
