A nice clean property in an excellent location.

We appreciated the terrace and the lookout, but feel that the property could be much improved if the "courtyard" was covered, as seemed to be case with the adjoining properties.

Anchorage is lovely clean and comfortable.

It had everything we needed for a relaxing weeks break. Set in a lovely village with lots of amenities and plenty of places to visit nearby. The Heritage Railway is a real bonus. Will definitely be back.

What a fabulous week's stay we had at Anchorage in Watchet.

The cottage was spotless on arrival and our kids loved exploring the various floors, especially the net loft with its incredible views over the Bristol Channel (and the Playstation was a fabulous addition!) We loved walking down to the little beach and going crabbing. The cottage was well equipped, it had a wonderful powerful shower and comfortable beds and sofas. Parking was never an issue, we could often park right outside the cottage for free or we parked in the residents' car park just up the road using the permit provided. Watchet itself is a beautiful village with absolutely everything you would need on a holiday. So many lovely pubs, places to eat and shops. The locals were very friendly and welcoming too. We used the local bus service to Minehead, we had great days out over into North Devon stopping off at Lynmouth and Lynton, and further along to Combe Martin. I would fully recommend this cottage.

Beautiful cottage, very well equipped kitchen.

Comfy beds and excellent shower. Sea-view sitting room and outside seating area were fabulous. Weather was wonderful so made plenty of use of them both. Watchet is a very friendly place, this was our second visit and will certainly not be our last. Off street parking was much appreciated too.

Such a lovely place better than we expected, very well stocked kitchen even came with a teapot, bonus, the den is brilliant with such a good view out to sea will try to re-book again as we love the area

Just back from a lovely week in Watchet.

Cottage had everything we needed. Spent hours sat looking out over the sea. Watchet itself is a real treat, a number of pubs, bars and eateries and the friendliest people who all stopped for a chat. Great location to explore from, we loved Dunster and it's castle, Lynmouth and Lynton and Minehead as well as fossil beach nearby.

What a place.

Everything that was promised was there and more. Loved the net loft as a hideaway with great views out to sea. Original quainess of the building maintained with modern twists.

Lovely house, location was fantastic and cannot fault the cleanliness.

Voil or net curtain on bedroom windows needed as very over looked.

It’s on the downstairs window but not the two bedrooms at the front that are overlooked. The cottage is delightful .

Wasn't completely clean on arrival but was quickly rectified as was the fact the bath plug was not working New doors would be a benefit as when the wind blows you can feel it on your back on the couch No welcome pack of any sort was disappointing when compared to previous cottages we have stayed at

A lovely, cosy and comfortable property.

We didn't have the best weather but were snug and warm once we got the heating on. Housekeeper and owners on hand and very helpful, thank you. The loft room and the terrace are great additions to the house. Only grumble....no empty cupboard for food items, so had to leave it on the work surface. Overall a great location and a beautifully presented and cosy cottage in a quaint harbor village.

The cottage was simply idea and such a beautiful setting. So clean and spacious and perfect for a week away with the family.

There was everything we needed, but perhaps a couple of folding chairs for outside would be handy instead of having to sit on the benches.

An excellent holiday home.

We found it spacious for four people, comfortable, quiet, well-equipped and full of character (especially the separate den/snug overlooking the sea). It is one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in. And Watchet is a good base - an interesting town with a harbour and a long history. Highly recommended!

We had a fabulous week in the Anchorage cottage.

It was like a home from home with the added bonus of a Loft room with spectacular views out to sea. There was a Deck outside which also looks over a rugged beach and the sea. Beautiful cottage, beautiful scenery, lovely little town. (Watchet) Our only let down was the great British weather which was disappointing but out of our control.

This was the most gorgeous cottage with amazing views.

There was a very small issue that was dealt with immediately, even though it was a bank holiday. The cleaning team are to be highly commended because the house is spotless. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, lovely bathrooms, well located and a parking permit for a place just a couple of minutes walk away. We will be back.

The cottage was everything we hoped for and more.

It was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The loft room was such a bonus, a fantastically serene place to sit and chill at the end of the night.

Lovely cottage.

It was very comfortable. Very spacious bathroom with good shower and spacious bath which my husband used every morning to ease his bad hip! We really loved going across the little jitty to the raised platform with fantastic views which we did daily due to the hit weather. Quirky but lovely. Would highly recommend.

We had a glorious week in a very comfortable, bright and homely town house.

Very good facilities and position close to the town center and quayside. Within easy walking distance of several beaches and good country and coastal walks. I would highly recommend this property. The Ship Inn hosted by Jason is a proper pub for good ales, cider and pub grub.

Anchorage cottage as delightful and a very calming atmosphere.

Could do with a new mattress on double bed and the ironing boards cover had disintegrated also it would be nice to have some milk in fridge on arrival. Loved this property it’s by far the nicest we’ve stayed in.

A well equipped house in a pleasant town.

The loft was much used to relax and watch the Bristol channel coming and going.

Loved the house and location - extra special place we’ve visited 5 times now.

Would have been nice to have some Christmas decorations or a welcome pack given it was Christmas week. Felt that we paid enough for the house to be cleaned after our stay - but we were asked to leave it how we found it (fully cleaned) and so cleaned three floors ourselves on our last day which was a lot to ask I felt.

3rd stay at anchorage watchet perfect in every way.

A very well equipped and situated property.

Everything was spotlessly clean and the high end appliances were appreciated. Having access to a dedicated car parking space was good (and probably essential in high season). A good base to explore the surrounding area.

Excellent family holiday house close to everything including access to the beach which is probably best suited for school age children due to the pebbles Wonderful views perfect for that evening glass of wine

We had a fantastic holiday .

The accommodation was well equipped and extremely comfortable. A parasol outside would have been nice as it got really hot , but a good time was had by all .

Anchorage was one of the cleanest properties we’ve ever stayed in.

It’s comfortable, well equipped and in a great location to explore the area.

Lovely cottage in small, interesting harbour town.

Cottage is well positioned, with great views at rear (whilst front is on main road, there is limited traffic and little noise); well equipped and very comfortable. The ‘net loft’ lounge is a great bonus with its very comfy sofa and view of sea.

Lovely cottage and very clean.

The net room was great especially on a grey day so peaceful looking out at the sea. Best equipped kitchen l have had in a rental. Great position for accessing the sites of Watchet on foot, and the beach just behind the cottage. I would definitely come back.

The Anchorage is a beautiful cottage in a lovely town with great views out to the sea.

Sykes provided excellent service and I'll definitely book with them again.

After staying here for the last 3 years the beds need to be replaced, i know some people say there comfy but i can tell you my backs in a poor state every time we have stayed.

the paintwork is peeling off in the bathroom, the suite in the loft space could do with a good clean and now the price for next year as gone up to over £900 for the 3rd week in september, no thanks. good luck selling them at that price.

Our 3rd visit to Anchorage… the location is super!

The views from the snug and the outside decking area are wonderful throughout the day and in any weather. The house is well fitted out with utilities, furniture and kept clean. Down at the beach you can spend hours investigating the rock pools and balancing stones on top of one another. Watchet itself has plenty going on, markets, an array of shops, pubs and takeaway restaurants! A great location to visit Minehead by bus or on the WSR… Porlock and the wonders of Exmoor… Devon is just on your doorstep and within 1hr 30 you can be at Croyde.

A lovely cottage with amazing sea views from the rear decking.

Did not sleep well at all the mattresses were poor and could feel every spring, and every time I moved could hear the springs!

! My wife and daughter feel the same!!

The cottage is well situated and the WiFi and smart TV makes it the perfect place to stay for entertainment inside and out!

The cottage was clean and very well equipped, we particularly enjoyed the spectacular sea views from the rear.

1 week stay in Anchorage, Watchet.

Lovely location with fantastic views and good clean accommodation. Cottage has been modernised well and is very comfortable. Sleeps 5 on two levels and we had a great week in Watchet. The views from the outside decking are amazing.

The separate upstairs room was a godsend for my kids as it had a computer games station with consoles. The only other points I would make are as follows: the knives could do with a sharpening and a parasol for the table and benches outside on the decking.

Ceiling heights were low in two of the three bedrooms, and as three of our five guest were over six foot this was something they need to be constantly aware of.

Maybe this should be mentioned in your description. Overall the property was fab. very quaint, ideally situated for shops and restaurants, pubs. We loved it. Thank you.

but will never book withe Skye's ever again .

The one disappointing thing about the holiday was that the bed linen and in particular the towels were not changed at the end of the first week.

In the Property Summary it states that bed linen and towels are included in the rent. It does not specify that they will be changed nor does it state that they wont. Our experience of self-catering around the country is that where you are staying for 2 weeks the linen and towels are changed mid way and hence this was our expectation. We suggest that you should strongly advise your clients that this should be the case and ensure narrative to whether this is the case or not should be added to the Property Spec.

The property is beautiful, great location.

A lot of stairs though for one family member so we had to change sleeping arrangements. The owners were really good, when we had a slight problem the day we left. Very supportive.
