“Generally a very nice and well appointed property.”
We enjoyed our stay. However, there were no hangars for clothes, and not all bedrooms had wardrobes.
We ran out of toilet paper and there was little consumable materials like wash ups, or washing up liquid etc, which we have come to expect in this range of accommodation. A minor issue that had minimal impact though.

However, the real issue for us that warranted only 3 stars, was the 1.5 miles of very narrow, high banked access road, with almost no viable passing bays; requiring vehicles to reverse for up to several hundred meters, when meeting on coming vehicles, was very harrowing.
We hired a 9 seater van for our trip and had to reverse several times, which made going out or returning something to worry about.
This info should be available to potential renters at the booking stage. We would have booked elsewhere for this reason.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay. We're really pleased to hear that you found the property well-appointed and enjoyed your time there. We're sorry to hear about the issues you encountered. There are wardrobes in three out of four of the bedrooms, as well as plenty of storage space for clothes. Hangers are provided and we will ask the housekeeper to check if some have gone missing. Whilst an initial supply of most essential consumables are provided at the start of each stay to help get you off to a comfortable start, please keep in mind that this is a self catering property and you will need to provide your own beyond this. Regarding the access road, we understand how challenging it must have been, especially with a larger vehicle. The high banked access road is a public road with passing places and there is a 1km long concrete track to the property, with one passing place which means that on rare occasion, reversing will be necessary - though this is of course something to be expected at times in almost all rural parts of Devon! We will, however, make future guests aware of the challenges regarding the access track. On the plus side, the long track guarantees a peaceful retreat away from busy roads!
