“Well situated cottage for touring the sights.”

Plenty of space for parking and great patio. Unexpected, if eclectic, welcome goodies (eg. milk but no tea or coffee!). The kitchen is not well equipped for those wishing to properly self cater, no baking trays, no grill pan rack, no freezer and the fridge is very small. Plenty of space for parking and great patio. Unexpected, if eclectic, welcome goodies (eg. milk but no tea or coffee!). The kitchen is not well equipped for those wishing to properly self cater, no baking trays, no grill pan rack, no freezer and the fridge is very small. The main bedroom is very small with very little drawer storage or room to move around the bed (there is no room to store suitcases), the bedrooms also need blackout blinds or heavy curtains. Don't expect to sleep late - the combination of a noisy boiler at 6am followed by the owner's grandson leaving on an extremely noisy motorbike prevents this. The noise of the motorbike reverberates throughout the cottage every time he comes and goes. The cottage appears to be accessible because of the (excellent) wet-room, but there is a step to get into the property.

Good afternoon Karen. We apologize if some of the details of the cottage failed to meet your requirements. We will be sure to look into the issues you have raised with the noise and oven facility's etc. As for welcome goodies we are not required to supply any of this but we do this out of the goodness of our heart, we don't know many (self catering) cottages except hotels who supply tea and coffee. We apologise for the lack of storage for your suitcases, most our guests use the large gaming room for any large storage items. We will look into purchasing some more grill trays in addition to the 2 available in the property, we assumed it would be enough for a holiday cottage. Thank you for your concern on the accessibility of the cottage with the step, but we do have a removable ramp that is available on request if a guest requires accessibility aid from booking and we would've been happy to put this in for you if you requested. Once again we apologize again for any inconvenience but glad you enjoyed the area. All the best, Pauline and David Property Owner

About the location

WELLS

Coxley 2 miles; Shepton Mallet 6 miles; Glastonbury 6 miles; Cheddar 9 miles.

Wells, England’s smallest city, is named after the springs which still bubble up today in the grounds of its splendid Bishop's Palace with its famous moat. Adjacent is the beautiful 12th century cathedral situated within a most attractive cathedral close and green. Nearby, Vicars Close is home to the oldest complete medieval street in Europe, and the quaint market square offers an array of interesting shops, boutiques and restaurants, and a colourful twice-weekly market. The surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty provides a wealth of scenic footpaths and rugged landscapes, and is a superb base for caving and rock climbing, and for road, biking and mountain biking. Nearby are the attractions of Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole Caves, both offering great days out. The picturesque Somerset Levels, as well as mystical Glastonbury are also situated an easy drive away. The beautiful city of Bath, with its Roman Baths, Thermae Bath Spa, The Theatre Royal and wonderful shops, is under 30 miles away, as is the vibrant city of Bristol, which boasts a multitude of attractions, including The Zoo, Theatres, the Aquarium, the Arnol Fini Art Gallery and many more. All in all, this beautiful city makes a convenient and ideal touring base. With so much to see and do, there is something to keep everyone entertained!

Note: Children must take care in the orchard due to the leat.

Note: For any holiday starting between 16th September and 27th May, a heating supplement of £20.00 will be added to the cost of your holiday.
