    “Chris and Di were wonderful hosts.”

    We enjoyed seeing them and their two friendly dogs going about the place. They left us a well thought out welcome pack, offering choices to personalise it. We were left feeling that our enjoyment of our stay was important to them. The cottage itself is very nice, comfy and clean. The kitchen is very well equipped although there is no allotted cupboard space to store food items, just the fridge freezer and a bread bin. You could shift things about if it really bothered you though. The beds are ...

We were left feeling that our enjoyment of our stay was important to them. The cottage itself is very nice, comfy and clean. The kitchen is very well equipped although there is no allotted cupboard space to store food items, just the fridge freezer and a bread bin. You could shift things about if it really bothered you though. The beds are comfortable and there is plenty of space to store clothes and things in the bedrooms. The bathrooms were nicely clean but we did experience some issues with the toilets. It seemed a previous guest had flushed wipes causing a partial blockage which caused flushed waste from one toilet to appear in the other toilet. We just flushed both toilets and things were improved. Hopefully this was a problem other people won’t suffer. Owing to a heat pump going down, we lost our hot water for some days. Our hosts were quite upset that it had happened and gave us access to the annex of their house so that we could shower there. The heat pump was awaiting the engineer when we left, so hopefully is now sorted. The floors of the cottage are, like many holiday lets, uncarpeted. Obviously this is great for cleaning issues and very practical for the owners. However, it does mean that sound from above or below travels to the opposite appartment. It is fair to say that once the toilet and water issues were sorted out, we would cheerfully stay here again. Just an advisory, in case of nervous drivers, there are narrow single track lanes all around the area generally, like most of the rural parts of Devon. However, if you’re looking for a quiet place, away from towns and city life, this is perfect.

Zeal Cottage is the upper floor of a converted Mill, which has a long association with the production of fruit juices, perry, cider and wine.

It comes with a spacious open plan living area, which retains it's original wooden beams throughout.It has a comfortable sofa and chairs sat in front of a Smart TV.There is also WIFI, dining for 4 and a luxury, well-equipped kitchen.

The cottage comes with attractive bedrooms that boast tasteful bed linen and plenty of clothing storage, Zeal cottage is topped off with high spec shower rooms.

Zeal Monachorum 1.4 miles. A couple of modern, stylish apartments situated in the same building, adjacent to the beautiful Oxen Park near the village of Zeal Monachorum in Devon. The Old Mill Cottages have been converted and finished to an immaculate standard. They both come with spacious open plan living areas with exquisite fixtures and fittings. They have comfortable sofas sat in front of Smart TVs, there is also WIFI, dining for 4 and luxury, well-equipped kitchens for you to use. Both of the apartments come with attractive bedrooms that boast tasteful bed linen and plenty of clothing storage. The “Tarka” train line is only 1.5 miles away, providing easy access to Barnstaple, Exeter and Exmouth and all stations between. Dartmouth is a short drive away and access to the north and south coasts of Devon are less than an hours drive. There are many local pubs offering good food. This is a pair of excellent apartments in a great countryside location.

CREDITON

Exeter 8.5 miles.

A busy market town 8.5 miles north west of the cathedral city of Exeter, and situated in an area of Devon known as “Red Devon” so called because of the distinctive red soil which is of prime agricultural quality, and excellent for growing swedes. This is a rural area of Devon which is tranquil, unspoilt and where ruby cattle are seen grazing amongst the rolling green meadows. There are many scattered villages with welcoming inns, well stocked farm shops and friendly locals. Crediton has a wide range of shops selling gifts and groceries, a fabulous farmers’ market, modern leisure centre and plenty of family friendly pubs. Crediton is less than 10 miles from Dartmoor National Park which provides excellent walking and horse riding opportunities and a half hour drive from the beautiful city of Exeter where there are theatres, stunning cathedral, shopping malls, and historic quay with waterfront cafes, antique shops and bars.
