    • “it is a very nice cottage indeed, just right for what we wanted. We did find the bedroom arrangement difficult, being two single people, and with only tiny windows so they were a bit airless, but in every other respect the cottage was delightful. Also the caretaker was extremely welcoming even though we turned up a bit early.”

    Mrs Whiteside, Exeter, October 2018

    • “Booking was efficient as usual through Helpful Holidays and we had another wonderful week at Lew Quarry Cottage. We soaked up the tranquil atmosphere and enjoyed the very beautiful surroundings. Thanks to Eva for the thought and the care that she puts into this most special cottage, we are already looking forward to our next visit.”

    Mrs Gigg, ASHFORD, September 2018

    • “I liked the support given by the people who helped book the cottage at such short notice, and also the people who look after the Sykes holiday cottage in Devon, in going out of their way to provide variously, a cot, a new toaster and more firewood for our stay. We had a really enjoyable week.”

    Mr Hayward, Ruislip, September 2018

    • “An attractive cottage in an idyllic setting.”

    Mrs Welsh, Farnborough, July 2018

    • “This is the third time we have stayed at Lew Quarry Cottage, returning there is just like home from home. It is certainly the best cottage we have had anywhere in England.I have already booked it for the same week next July as that week coincides with my partner's birthday and we do like to get away to celebrate! We also have friends in the area to visit, and there are plenty of antiques shops within the area to visit and hopefully buy; we're both busy antiques dealers. Long may Lew Quarry Cottage remain available!”

    Mr Porter, AYLESBURY, July 2018

    • “You won't find a quieter spot..and the cottage is maintained to the highest standards.”

    Mr Balmer, Hook, June 2018

    • “This is a very good and very well managed property, where there is great attention to detail and a genuine homely feel.”

    Mr Wallace, Alloa, June 2018

    • “Lew Quarry Cottage is a beautiful "chocolate box" cottage with pretty gardens set in peaceful countryside. We had a warm welcome from Eva,fresh flowers throughout the cottage and all kinds of delicious treats left for us. The cottage is cosy and comfortable, extremely well stocked with everything you could possibly need and you feel relaxed and at home very quickly. We enjoyed sitting in the garden watching the wild life, something different everyday!!! Two things i would point out...being an old cottage the ceilings and doorways are quite low and hubby ended up with a few bumps on his head (he's 6ft 2ins) ....and the path to the cottage is fairly long and an uphill slope which could be a problem to those with limited mobility. Apart from this the cottage is absolutely perfect, has bags of character,in beautiful surroundings and i would definitely stay here again.”

    Mrs Sherwood, Portsmouth, June 2018

    • “Perfect location for our requirements. The cottage was extremely well equipped with everything one could possibly need and the welcoming posies in the rooms gave a fresh feel to the whole place. Our third property with Helpful Holidays and we have not been disappointed - all have been to a very high standard (unlike one or two we have had the misfortune to rent on the basis of the brochure and Internet!). Beautiful countryside and fairly easy access to several NT properties and walks. In all, an extremely good holiday- and we had the perfect weather so very enjoyable.”

Mr Stanton, Craven Arms, May 2018

    • “The wow factor was very high when you enter the cottage: it is spottlessly clean, very well equipped and very cosy. The garden is a dream with its wonderful bluebells and the fantastic view. It is a great base to explore the dartmoor and the surrounding area: Lydford Gorge, Okehampton, Exeter, Lustleigh, HayTor, Widecombe-in-the Moor, Bellever, Cadover Bridge, Buckland Abbey, Cotehele, Brixham and Dartmouth. We had wonderful weather and enjoyed our stay very much. We reccomend Lew Quarry Cottage for all who want to stay in a quiet accomodation. Eva the caretaker is very helpful and the welcome packet and the fresh flowers in every room was a great receipt. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.”

    Dr Pfrang-Stotz, May 2018
