“We had stayed at 3 Trungle Cottages before, it’s ideally placed for our needs and it was spotlessly clean on that occasion.”

We really think the owner needs to employ a new cleaner or if they clean the house themself it may be worth employing someone else. The living area was fine. The kitchen surfaces were fine but the windowsill and teapot were very dusty and hadn’t been cleaned for a while. The empty wine bottle was equally dirty. Upstairs there were dirty glasses by the sink and the outside of the toilet bowl was gross. The main bedroom had fingerprints all over the window and there were dirty tissues beside ...

The main bedroom had fingerprints all over the window and there were dirty tissues beside the bed. The other bedroom had a filthy window and there were dirty finger prints there too. The larger mattress in this room has seen much better days. It’s a great shame because this is a lovely cottage in a lovely spot with the luxury of parking outside or close by. Also, it’s worth noting that you cannot book in until 6:00pm on a weekday. We were not informed of this until after we had fully paid.

Hi, I’m so sorry to read this. The cottage has been decorated throughout a few weeks ago. I will certainly discuss these issues with our cleaner and I will get the mattress checked in the spare room. Thank you for your feedback. Do you any photographs of the problems? Property Owner

The property

Decked seating area (table/chairs) to the front and, at the back, outbuilding for storing your bicycles and surfboards.

Stable doors (small step) into kitchen/dining room (microwave, fridge with icebox, electric cooker) with tiled floor.

Sliding doors through to cosy living room with woodburner, TV/DVD and stable doors to decking.

From the kitchen, steep stairs up to two bedrooms - a bright and airy double (TV, limited clothes-hanging space), and a bunk room (double bed with single over); shower-room (suite).

A delightful cottage in an excellent location amongst west Cornwall's prettiest villages, handy for walking the Coast Path and a five minute stroll from a pub. Mousehole: perhaps the prettiest Cornish fishing village; horseshoe of granite cottages, shops, good restaurant, cafés, pub round its harbour.

Little sandy harbour beach.

Good walks.

Newlyn (busy fishing harbour), 1 mile.

Penzance, 2; Porthcurno (Minack Theatre), 8; Sennen (good sandy beach, surf school), 10; Land's End, about 12.

About the location

MOUSEHOLE

Penzance 4 miles; St Ives 12 miles.

A delightful fishing village nestled on a hillside and spilling down to the shore. The picturesque harbour, surrounded by its maze of winding narrow streets, draws visitors from miles around, while in the distance St Michael's Mount stands proudly in the centre of Mounts Bay. A fabulous coastline and miles of spectacular walking characterise the area, with seabirds, seals and wild headlands leading just around the corner to Land's End. The Minack cliff-top theatre is a few miles along the coast, while reminders of the region's ancient past in the form of Dolmens and standing stones appear everywhere. St Ives, with its stunning beaches, beautiful harbour and narrow winding streets is just 12 miles away.
