“My family and I stayed at this property in June 2022, and while we encountered some issues with cleanliness at that time, we attributed it to a one-off oversight and chose to book again this year due to the location, views, and the belief that it would be an isolated incident.”
Unfortunately, upon our return last week, it became clear that no significant maintenance or improvements had been made since our last stay.
Most concerning, however, was the overall cleanliness, presentation, and attention to detail, which were not at all in line with the price we paid. Some of the issues we encountered included:
Dirty tissues found under the sideboard in the lounge
Crumbs and debris in the cutlery tray
Sweet wrappers, crumbs, and debris down the sides of the sofa
Cobwebs throughout the property, creating an unhygienic atmosphere
A used hair bobble left in the bathroom
Disorganised kitchen cupboards with mismatched and chipped crockery
Additionally, while the garden offers stunning views, we were unable to fully enjoy it due to most of the seating being broken and in need of repair. It also became apparent that the property is being used as a storage space for items no longer in use, such as an overwhelming number of videos in the bathroom despite there not being a video player in the property.
Having stayed at this property as well as another at Glendorgal Sands over the years, the difference in presentation and overall upkeep is quite stark. My parents, who were staying at Number 8 during the same week, had a completely different experience, with their property in excellent condition, which only highlighted the discrepancies in quality between the two.
I fully appreciate that there may be limitations in what can be addressed after the fact, but I felt it was important to share my disappointment to ensure future guests do not encounter the same issues.
While I look forward to future holidays in this beautiful area, I hope that the necessary steps will be taken to ensure the property is properly maintained and that guests receive the quality of experience they deserve, reflective of the price they pay.
