The Property

Tucked away in the idyllic village of Tuckenhay, South Devon is this delightful, former paper mill cottage. Positioned at the end of a narrow lane that sits on the edge of the picturesque Bow Creek, Jasmine Cottage, is welcoming and full of character. A lovely choice for family or groups of friends, with three first floor bedrooms, one king-size, one double and one twin, and a family bathroom with bath or shower over. The cosy sitting room with two leather sofas and a flat screen TV, is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day sightseeing. Boasting an attractive brick fireplace housing a cosy woodburning stove. The open plan dining area is a social space with dining for up to six people, ideal for family meals or to enjoy morning coffee. The kitchen has a range of handmade bespoke timber units with pretty rainbow tiles. Leading off from the dining area, a useful utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, plus separate cloakroom and WC. Outside to the rear, there is a steep, raised patio area with a table and chairs (may not be suitable for young children), so you can sit out and enjoy the afternoon sun with a refreshing glass of wine. Off-road parking is available for two medium sized cars, with a terraced garden where families can unwind and enjoy the soothing sounds of the river. A short drive from Dartmouth with its award winning restaurants and boutiques, A nearby attraction, situated in the local town of Totnes, is Totnes Castle. A wonderfully preserved motte and bailey fortified castle. Set in the stunning countryside grounds, and boasting a wonderful piece of architecture. From the cottage a brisk walk to the River Dart, with two riverside pubs close by. Beaches at Slapton and Blackpool Sands are a short drive away and Woodlands Park provides fun for all the family whatever the weather.
