“My review of our stay at 66 Picklecombe Fort 19th-26th April There is no doubt the location of this apartment is spectacular and the apartment is comfortable and very peaceful with lots to watch from the large picture windows and balcony, plus very easy access to the coastal path.”

But it is quite remote. For this reason I was surprised to find ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the way of a starter pack. If you have had a difficult journey. The last thing you will want to do is get back in the car and drive 30 min there and back ‘down country lanes’ to get some milk and bread. Plus this is marketed as a 5* property with a price to match!!!!!! I feel using the ‘covid excuse’ is wearing a bit thin these days. It should be about making the holiday maker feel special and ...

It should be about making the holiday maker feel special and welcome. Note to the owner We left a note with the housekeeper re maintenance issues !!!! To helpful holidays My poor review of the company, was to do with feeling when contacting customer service, I was dealt with by AI. Not a person.

The property

On the top floor of Fort Picklecombe, a light and airy apartment with sensational right-out-to-sea views.

Binoculars are essential here: so much fascinating shipping activity, possibly dolphins, certainly seals and cormorants.

Door from passage to outer hall with plenty of room for coats, boots, surfboards.

Front door to inner hall.

Open-plan living/dining/kitchen (microwave, freezer, electric cooker, larder fridge) with TV/Sky/DVD/PVR and sliding glazed doors to balcony.

Two double bedrooms, one with 5' bed and one with en suite shower-room (suite); bathroom (suite, shower over bath).

A wonderful place for walking, daydreaming and relaxing. Fort Picklecombe: built in 1848 to protect Plymouth, this fort is now converted into excellent apartments.

Stunning views of sea/shipping (sometimes warships).

Long drive leads to it.

Kingsand/Cawsand, 2 miles; Mount Edgcumbe Park, ¼ mile by Coast Path; pedestrian ferry to Plymouth, 2 miles; car ferry, 10.
