“Lovely welcome from Jenny, the owner, offering lots of ideas etc.”

Cottage was just lovely, extremely clean and comfortable, had everything we could possibly need. Excellent location, will be returning another time as one of the best cottages we have ever been to. Loved it.

The property

A detached, single-storey holiday cottage peacefully situated within the charming Somerset village of Westbury-sub-Mendip on the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills, between Wells and Cheddar Gorge.

Comfortably furnished and well equipped, this cottage offers couples an attractive and convenient holiday base in a most picturesque part of Somerset.

The open plan living area provides light and airy accommodation with a twin bedroom.

Doors from the sitting room open out onto a small, enclosed private patio complete with garden furniture, while a short stroll takes you down to the village shop and pub with local footpaths stretching in all directions.

There's plenty to see within a short drive, including the stunning Cheddar Gorge as well as the caves and attractions at Wookey Hole.

Time your visit right in November to attend an evening event held by the local Somerset Carnival Clubs, which showcases a parade of carnival floats, and attracts 1000’s of people each year.

Alternatively, visit the charming medieval market city of Wells, named after the springs which still bubble up today in the grounds of the beautiful cathedral.

A little further afield you can spend the day touring the Somerset Levels, which offer an abundance of wildlife and pretty villages, or head to mystical Glastonbury, home to the annual Glastonbury Festival, approximately seven miles from Glebe Lodge, and a fantastic selection of shops, including crystal shops, Reiki treatments, the Chalice Well and a famous Tor boasting the legend of King Arthur.

A delightful cottage offering a convenient Somerset village holiday base at any time of the year.
