Why book a cottage in St Ives?
With its picturesque fishing harbour, artistic heritage, cobbled streets and beautiful golden beaches, St Ives is one of the most popular and well loved destinations in Cornwall. There is so much to see and do that you’ll want to keep coming back again and again.
Not content with having one stunning beach, St Ives has several! The largest beaches of Porthmeor, Porthgwidden, Portminster and Harbour beach are all well within walking distance of the town but there are further beaches and hidden coves to discover when the tide is low. If you fancy a spot of lunch or an evening meal after a day at the beach then you won’t have far to travel. There are numerous cafes and restaurants dotted along the beachfront.
Home to a thriving art colony, famous artists have been visiting St Ives for hundreds of years. Today there are numerous galleries, including the Tate St Ives, Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden as well as more commercial displays, where you can purchase works by many talented artists.
Places to visit near St Ives
Roughly a mile to the east of St Ives is the delightful seaside resort of Carbis Bay. The bay is famed for its award-winning Blue Flag beach - ideal for families looking to spend the day at the seaside.
