Why book a cottage in Axminster?
The beautiful market town of Axminster is located on the border of East Devon, overlooking the River Axe. The town sits within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is surrounded by miles of stunning countryside. It is only a few miles from the Jurassic Coast and the sandy beaches of many seaside towns.
The town is famous for manufacturing Axminster carpets and they still produce them over 250 years later, providing carpets for Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, as well as other Royal households.
Keen walkers and cyclists are spoilt for choice with a host of different routes available. Follow the South West Coast Path along the coast, explore the nearby Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or enjoy a pleasant stroll around Trinity Hill Nature Reserve.
Places to visit near Axminster
Travel west along the Jurassic Coast and visit the charming seaside towns and villages of Seaton, Beer and Branscombe. Sit and relax on the beach or enjoy a stroll along the sea front with an ice cream.
