“The views and position of this cottage are wonderful, quiet, soothing and relaxing.”
The cottage itself is quaint and well furnished with quality furniture and furnishings, bright and on the smaller size for a maximum of six people.
Unfortunately we had a few problems on arrival, none of the electrics were working, including the fridge. We had to work out that the major fuse had tripped and been left off. The dishwasher was broken and not fixed until the Thursday.
The garden furniture was dirty and rusty, and although the cushions were in a box for the furniture, it wasn't waterproof, so were soaking wet and stained. So the garden furniture was not able to be used for the whole week.
The biggest problem is the parking. It states in the advertisement, " unload at the end of the road, then park next to the Chapel if space available", We did this, and found the next morning one of the local residents had put a fake Parking Ticket on our car. We then went out to come back to the spaces having parking cones blocking us from parking. These spaces are not reserved, but the local residents expect you not to park in them, and get very irate if you do.
Parking is extremely difficult on a very steep hill, so if you have mobility or health problems, this probably isn't the place for you, which should be mentioned in the Holiday Brochure.
There were some minor cleaning issues with dirty cutlery and pans and a very dusty TV.
A guide with how appliances work would be a very useful addition.
The cream tea provided was a nice thought and appreciated. The local shop and hotel also provide a very good service.
Overall the cottage was a nice place with outstanding views, but would I return, probably not.
Thank you for your feedback and it is lovely to hear you enjoyed the position of the cottage with its outstanding views and quiet and relaxing spot on The Costal path. It is unfortunate that we discovered the dishwasher was not working on your day of arrival, however, as our engineer needed to order a part, it was not repaired as quickly as we would have liked and we thank you for your patience with this. Unfortunately, we hadn't realised the dishwasher had tripped a switch in the process but I understand this was very quickly resolved. Due to the unique position of the cottage on the coastal path, this does mean we don't have parking at the front of the property. This is pointed out in the details of the cottage. It is very common in Cornish villages that parking can be a challenge unless you stay in a property with designated parking. We are very fortunate in Coverack to have a few public parking areas but this does mean that you may have to unload close to the cottage and then park elsewhere, within a short walk. Thank you for your feedback regarding cleanliness, we take the standard of the cottage very seriously and endeavour to present it to a high a standard. I will review your points with my housekeeper and address any issues raised. Rest assured we will make every effort keep our standards high, ensuring all our guests have a wonderful holiday.
