“The location is excellent but the cottage inside was quaint but rather impractical .”

The kitchen is very basic, no cupboard for our food and the cupboard for the pans and china was difficult to access. The bedroom was fine but not much room to get into the bed on the wall side especially with a large mirror making the space even narrower. The settees were not very comfortable and the cottage quite draughty. The front door was awkward to open.

Thank you kindly for providing feedback following your stay at The Pepper Pot. Since receiving your helpful review future guests will be pleased to know we have reorganised the kitchen space giving more storage space for food and making pots & pans more accessible. Unfortunately due to the lay out of the bedrooms there isn’t really anything more we can do to make the space bigger, we haven’t had any previous mentions of this so can only apologise if you found it a little narrow. We have now replaced 1 of the sofas and have bought new cushions for the other. All windows are double glazed; however the front and back door are both wooden, the owner has done everything possible to ensure there are no draughts. Both doors have had new locks and latches however the doors will swell on occasion depending on the weather, unfortunately this is out of the owner’s control, again, there have been no previous mention of difficulties with either door. Despite the points raised we are pleased you liked the location of The Pepper Pot. Property Owner

The property

Located a short distance from Lympstone harbour, The Pepper Pot is a wonderful abode in a picturesque estuary village, perfect for a romantic getaway or family vacation.

The kitchen has a French appeal, with copper saucepans and a Belfast sink to go with the wooden surfaces and original 19th-century furniture in the open floor plan that also features a fireplace.

Enjoy a relaxing night in by the fireplace while watching your favourite shows on the Smart TV.

Upstairs, the master bedroom has a double bed and exposed beams.

There is a second single bedroom to accommodate a third guest.

Find the bathroom and its bathtub and shower enclosure so you can plan your morning routine.

There is a bench outside the front of the cottage which faces south for guests to use.

Within a short walk you’ll be surrounded by a wealth of amenities, ranging from great pubs and restaurants to village shops and fisherman’s stalls looking to sell their daily catch.

Lympstone Manor and vineyard, owned by Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines, is conveniently located nearby, making it an ideal venue for a leisurely stroll before or after enjoying the restaurant's exceptional afternoon tea, amazing lunch, or sumptuous dinner.

From the cottage, hikers and cyclists can access the beautiful walking and cycling trails in the area, including the South West Coastal Path, the United Kingdom's longest National Trail, which runs along the stunning coastline of the south west, and the Exe Cycle Trail, which connects Lympstone to Exeter, Exmouth, Topsham, and Dawlish over a distance of 26 miles.

Lympstone station is a short walk away, and from there you can easily reach Torbay, the South Hams, and the ancient city of Exeter without needing your car at all.

There's a lot to look forward to at The Pepper Pot.
