The property

Starlings Roost is a detached bungalow, offering superb countryside views towards nearby Glastonbury and its tor, in the quaint Somerset village of Ashcott.

The bungalow offers ideal accommodation for a family or group of six wanting to explore Somerset and the nearby Mendip Hills, with fantastic walking and cycling opportunities available from the doorstep.

Close by is the RSPB Ham Wall nature reserve, adjacent to the Shapwick Heath National Nature Reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest where you can see a variety of birdlife as well as acres of woodland, meadows and lakes to discover.

Enter the newly renovated property and discover a brand new kitchen, fully equipped with all of the necessary appliances, including an oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, as well as breakfast bar area where you can enjoy a quick snack.

Meanwhile, the dining room/sun room is a bright and airy space to host group meals while admiring the picturesque countryside views on offer to you.

After dinner, retreat to the sitting room to relax on the sofa and throw on a family movie while the heat from the electric fire fills the room with warmth and adds to the homely feel.

When you're ready to get some sleep, you can choose from three spacious bedrooms, which consist of a twin, a double and a king-size with dual aspect windows, offering superb countryside views to the Tor, as well as a convenient en-suite shower room, with a family bathroom providing a shower over bath completing the interior.

Externally, there is a sloping driveway with parking for two cars, as well as a sloping front lawn, while to the rear, you will find an enclosed lawn and patio area with a hot tub, providing a relaxing end to your day.

Ashcott village offers a convenience store and several excellent village pubs, any of which serve food, within walking distance of the property, as well as a brewery and there is an annual beer festival with lots of entertainment and music, which takes place each July.

Five miles away is the picturesque town of Glastonbury, known for its world-famous music festival, as well as offering a good selection of shops and eateries, an abbey with links to King Arthur, the standalone hill of Glastobury Tor, topped by a 15th century tower and offering sweeping views across three counties and the Victorian pump house of the White Spring.

The market town of Bridgwater is approximately 10 miles away, offering museums, riverside walks, and for nature and wildlife enthusiasts, the protected salt marshes of WWT Steart Marshes and the Bridgwater Bay National Nature Reserve.

For a beach day out, Burnham-on-Sea has a wonderful sandy beach, while walkers and cyclists will enjoy exploring the Mendip Hills AONB, filled with historic sites, fascinating caves and limestone hills.

Starlings Roost is a fantastic base from which to explore the countryside and coast of Somerset.

Ashcott is a lovely, rural village sat in the Sedgemoor area of Somerset in southwest England. It boasts a handy shop, five welcoming village pubs as well as its own brewery. Ashcott also hosts an annual beer festival with music and entertainent to raise money for the local community and takes place each July. This is an excellent touring base for the area, with the stunning town of Glastonbury just over five miles away, noted for its famous music festival, it also benefits from an array of superb amenities and displays a stunning abbey.
