“A wonderful cottage style first floor property - well equipped, very comfortable and in a peaceful rural location amongst apple orchards, with countryside views, close to pretty villages, national trust properties and local cider making farms.”

Most within walking distance. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony area having our breakfast in the sunshine, spotting deer and watching chickens in the garden.

Martock was historically known as a Somerset market town but is now a large village situated on the edge of the Somerset Levels. The village has a Post Office, a fire station, a petrol station, a number of pubs, shops and eateries, as well as a recreation ground and the National Trust property of Treasurer's House which is a 12th century medieval house. Other National Trust properties nearby are the 16th century Montacute House which is a country house with formal gardens, the 17th century Tintinhull Garden, and the Tudor mansion of Barrington Court with its walled orchards. Take a short drive into the town of Yeovil which has something for everyone; a bustling town centre, a golf course, wonderful gardens and parks, and the popular Yeovil Railway Centre which has full-scale locomotive cars, a mini-train ride, an art gallery and a gift shop. The surronding area is a haven for cyclists, walkers and wildlife lovers with the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Blackdown Hills AONB and Dorset AONB each within driving distance.
