Why book a cottage in St Agnes?

Enjoy one of the most beautiful rural locations in all of England with a holiday break in St Agnes. Located on the north coast of Cornwall, this thriving village has a rich history and is very popular with nature lovers.

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the district is a Cornish Mining World Heritage Site and there are remains of the tin mines dotted all over the landscape. St Agnes is closely associated with Poldark, having featured heavily in the novels by Winston Graham and also used as a location for the TV adaptation. The St Agnes Museum is well worth a visit for anyone wanting to learn more about the mining heritage or the earlier history of the village.

The South West Coast Path runs all the way along the St Agnes Heritage Coast with walkers able to enjoy spectacular views. The waters around the coast are a protected marine site and on a good day you may be able to spot whales, dolphins, porpoises or seals. Trevaunance Cove is the village's main beach and is very popular with families and surfers.

St Agnes is well stocked with interesting shops and has a wide choice of excellent cafés, pubs and restaurants to enjoy a refreshing drink or a good meal.

Places to visit near St Agnes

The seaside resort of Perranporth and its spectacular sandy beach is farther east along the coast. The village of Crantock has one of the best beaches in Cornwall and it backs on to rolling sand dunes, perfect for exploring. Just over the River Gannei is the large town of Newquay, home to several beaches, a bustling high street and a number of high quality attractions.
