Why visit Kingsbridge
Kingsbridge is a bustling market town located in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Kingsbridge Estuary runs south of the town and is perfect for watersports enthusiasts or anyone who wants to try a new activity - kayaking, paddleboarding and sailing are all on offer. For anyone who doesn’t enjoy the water there are many great walking routes to choose from. South Devon AONB alone has over 50 different trails to navigate, varying in length from 2 to 12 miles.
Kinsbridge has a thriving town centre with a number of shops, galleries and museums to explore. It also has a cinema and leisure centre with a swimming pool. You won’t be short on places to enjoy a drink and a nice meal as the town is packed with cafés, pubs and restaurants.
The Kingsbridge Farmers’ Market is held on the first and third Saturdays of each month and is an opportunity to sample and buy a variety of fantastic local produce; such as vegetables, fruit, cheese, meat and fish. There are always local events happening throughout the year and some of the most popular include the Kingsbridge Food and Music Festival in June and the Kingsbridge Show in September.
Places to visit near Kingsbridge
Travel south towards the coast and stop off at the beautiful town of Salcombe, home to some of the best seafood restaurants in Devon. Jump on the ferry to cross the estuary and visit the village of East Portlemouth. Explore the cluster of small, secluded beaches, ideal for children wanting to splash about in the shallow waters or hunt in the rock pools.
