The property

Traditional character and contemporary comfort makes Kosy Kot a holiday haven to return to!

This delightful cottage is surprisingly spacious, positioned less than a mile from the scenic birdlife wonderland at Hayle Estuary on the edge of St Ives Bay.

Next to Cornwall's largest dunes and three mile stretch of golden sands, the beach reaches round from Hayle River to Godrevy lighthouse and Gwithian Beach, ideal for swimming, rock-pooling and extreme sports.

Bring hiking boots and explore the cliffs and country footpaths of this World Heritage Site.

As you head up county, the Atlantic coastline has a bounty of resorts with surfside cafes and sea-view watering holes.

Hayle has an eclectic mix of restaurants, traditional inns and supermarkets within a short walk.

The kids will enjoy Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary with soft play arena.

Carbis Bay and sublime St Ives is eight miles away, host to gorgeous beaches, boutiques, galleries and gift shops.

Sit aside the dinky quay with an ice cream or cappuccino, take a fishing trip, seal safari excursion or join the surf school for white water fun.

Mythical St Michaels Mount is a 15 minute drive away.

This iconic National Trust landmark makes an exceptional day out, timed by the tides to walk the knobbly causeway at low water, or board the diminutive ferry at high tide.

Seek refreshment from one of Marazions' good food pubs, restaurants or cafes after adventures on the castle topped semi-isle.

Kosy Kot's comfortable and elegant sitting room has beams and a wood burner to cosset on cooler days, so curl up or kick back on a classic sofa with a book.

The kitchen is contemporary with all the appliances, plus a dining table for cream tea treats.

The ground floor shower room is practical after a sandy-toed adventure.

The bedrooms have a coast-meets-country vibe, with white and blue hues for calming carefree sleeps and the beautiful bathroom has a relaxed elegance with roll top bath for bathing bliss.

The rear garden is tiered with a shingled patio for sunshine snacks and steps up for siestas and play, with an additional bijou table for sunset finales.

About the location

HAYLE

St Ives 7 miles; Penzance 7.5 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafes where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries or admire the colourful sub tropical gardens. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre (35 mins), Falmouth Maritime Museum (40 mins), Eden Project (40 mins), St. Michael’s Mount (15 mins) and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.

Note: Restricted height in king-size double room (lowest point 137cm). Note: Please state at the point of booking if you require beds to be made up differently to that specified. Late notice may mean we are not able to change the configuration in time for your arrival.
