Why visit South Cornwall?
The landscape of South Cornwall is rich and varied, catering to outdoor adventures and rural retreats alike. Between the River Tamar and River Fowey and south of Bodmin Moor is inland Cornwall at its most gentle and lovely: deep wooded valleys between sheep and cattle-grazed fields lead down to tidal creeks. Dotted along the coast, below rugged cliffs, are long, sandy beaches and sheltered coves. Two of Cornwall’s most pleasant cove villages are Kingsand and Cawsand and the pretty fishing village of Polperro.
Walk the South West Coast Path and spot birds and marine creatures from the cliff tops of the Roseland Peninsula or Rame Head Heritage Coast. Stay in St Austell or Charlestown, close to one of the UK’s most popular attractions, the Eden Project. Sample the catch of the day at one of the many fish restaurants in Fowey or visit Looe and take a boat trip to Looe Island.
