Steep stairs which divide to two pretty bedrooms - to one side, a single room (footboard on bed, limited clothes-hanging space); to the other side, a smart bathroom (suite with separate large shower), through which step down to a double under the eaves with its own additional steep twisting staircase (bottom door) down to the living room. Heat supplied by eco-friendly biomass boiler. A welcoming and homely base 100 yards from open moorland and with beautiful walks from the doorstep.
Belstone: little high village (good food pub, church, village green) on the edge of the open moor, brilliant base for walking Dartmoor's highest hills and wildest valleys. Okehampton (small town, golf, tennis, leisure centre, bicycle hire, cinema), 3½ miles; Chagford, 8; sea/sand/surf at Bude, about 30. Riding/pony-trekking and fishing locally. Filling station/shop (24 hours), 1 mile.

Belstone Situated on the very Northern edge of Dartmoor, the small moorland village of Belstone lies on the Northern edge of Dartmoor National Park and is a wonderful location for keen walkers with some of the wildest parts of the moor within easy walking distance. With an excellent pub and tea rooms to relax in at the end of a hard day's exploring, Belstone is a great base.
