“Perfect location to explore Somerset!”

The cottage itself is a place worth visiting, actually. We very much enjoyed the stay and if somehow manageable want to repeat the experience.

It is a perfect starting point for Cornwall tours with e.g. Eden Project, Lanhydrock Manor and the beautiful Bodmin Moor just around the corner. (Don't miss lovely Fowey!) The owner cares for a very warm welcome. Strongly recommended!

“Castle is a fabulous place to stay and we had a great weekend there.”

A nice welcome pack was waiting on our arrival which was a lovely surprise. The super king-size beds were very comfortable and the bedding very clean. The bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner but nothing that was a problem. The kitchen had everything you needed and there was loads of crockery and cutlery. The only downsize was the water pressure and temperature but Castle was built in 1810 so you can't complain. A place I have already recommended to friends and I would love to stay there again. Really relaxing and lovely gardens... Definitely book it if you are looking for a break away from the hustle and bustlle.

“Lovely place.”

Great location and just a short drive to nearby Fowey also. Very spacious apartment with superb gardens. Lostwithiel itself is also lovely. We stayed for a week and had a lovely and relaxing break.

A delightfully peaceful country town, nestling in the Fowey river valley amid the woods and fields that characterise the area. Renowned as a centre for the antiques trade, there are several shops and dealers in the town, as well as a fine collection of country pubs, restaurants and a thriving farmer’s market. Lanhydrock House (NT) and gardens is just 3 miles away, while the fabulous Boconnoc House, Eden Project, shipwreck museum and tall ships harbour at Charlestown, and the picturesque fishing villages of Mevagissey, Fowey and Padstow, with the famous Rick Stein restaurants, are all within easy driving distance. The tumbling Atlantic surf, long sandy beaches and dramatic coastline of the north coast, including at the renowned Newquay, make for great days out and there is also chance to enjoy river canoeing, biking, hiking and leisurely walks in this lovely area.
