The property

... 200 yards from the nearest cottage in Treburtle, a smart, comfortable, detached house, probably of Victorian origin, very private and set in a lawned garden (table/bench/chairs) surrounded by Cornish banks and fence. About 600 yards of bridlepath walk away is the River Ottery where you can fish (by prior arrangement) for brown trout for 2 miles on a stretch of river much praised in the 'Trout and Salmon'.

Inside, light and airy with tiled floors downstairs; good-sized entrance hall; length-of-house living/dining room with woodburner, TV/DVD and French windows to garden; excellent little fitted kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker); shower-room (suite, washer-drier). Stairs up to three bedrooms – a double (5' bed) with lovely long views to Dartmoor, and two twin (one with good view), with shared wardrobe space on the landing; bathroom (suite) with super view. A quiet, private, superbly relaxing place, with beaches within a half hour drive and good gardens to visit within an hour's drive.

Treburtle: hamlet of scattered cottages deep in farmland and woodland (wonderful bluebells in spring), 7 miles from Launceston (town, leisure centre, golf). Tresmeer (shop), 1½ miles; Carne (pub/restaurant), 6. Nearest sandy beach, Crackington Haven, 9 miles; Bude, 15. Within an hour's drive of many lovely gardens, open from early spring with magnificent camellias, magnolias and rhododendrons.

Treburtle Cottage is found in a quiet lane away from the noises of Town or City life. A gated large gravel drive with plenty of room for two or more cars gives you you're first impression of the nice space this Cottage occupies. There's little traffic ,say a tractor or local Land Rover that comes down the lane, the busiest time was when the dairy herd was moved to the milking sheds, which provided much curiosity for our dog, who had never seen a cow before. The cottage itself has an old, but not tired feel, an adequately equipped kitchen and open plan dining and living area with doors to the nicely enclosed and sheltered garden. The Garden is well fenced and only the most determined of small guests, two legged or four will find away out. The adjacent fields can be home to the cows or sheep, but not for the week we spent here. There's a bench and table and fold away seats. Back inside the living space there's a cosy wood burner for those nights when it turns chilly. There was a good supply of wood left to use by the owners. Downstairs off the large entrance hall there's a W/c and shower room, you'll find the essential washer dryer here. Upstairs a large double room and the two twin bedrooms. A good sized family Bathroom (no shower). The most attractive feature of Treburtle is the peace and quiet and coupled to the country lanes and paths and the bridle way which runs adjacent there's excellent walking and seemingly endless countryside to enjoy. Weather permitting. The location though affords you the opportunity to easily reach some great coastal locations and places to visit all within 30 to 40 minutes by car. Launceston is 20 minutes away by car and there's all the facilities and shops you'll need including some great local suppliers as well as the bigger stores you associate with a town. All said, My wife and I, two adult Sons and of course Joey the dog had a great stay, Relaxing quiet days and nights, with a visit or two to the beeches, we will certainly miss the cosy wood burner!
